"So Jared, are you ready for your interview?" I asked politely, not even fazed I was talking to the singer of 30 seconds to mars.
"Sure let's do this." He replied with a smile.
I put a recorder on the table and went through the 'are you okay to be recorded I won't use it for anything other than the article' warning I have to give at every interview. Just as I was about to ask the first question, the door to his dressing room burst open and a girl that looked about thirteen running over to Jared and hugging him.
"I love you so much! You are the only reason I'm still here today! See look at my wrists!" She rolled up her sleeve to show some pretty shallow cuts. Attention seeker.
"Thanks for coming to the show! But I'm in the middle of an interview so if you wouldn't mind..." Jared said quietly. I'd interviewed him a few times and knew that he wasn't a loud person. I was okay with that though, it was easy to talk to him.
The girl turned around and looks at me, obviously only just realising my existence. "Oh my god! You're so lucky, you get to meet celebrities all the time!" She squealed in my ear. I flinched and moved back.
"Yeah but I have to do a lot of work too." I said trying to get her to leave.
"How could you be so ungrateful for the best job ever?" She screamed. This girl had some problems. "Jared why do you let someone like that talk to you?"
"I think she's pretty nice." He turned to me and smiles. He had such blue eyes. I could stare at them all day.
"Oh well in that case I'm sorry! And my name is Anna just so you know. I guess I'll go now." And with that she finally left. I wished I could say she was the first person I has seen that would cut just for a celebrity's attention.
"Now that she's gone, shall we?" I gestured to the chairs. Just another workday.
I was just about to board my plane back to London when an employee came rushing up to me and asked if I had just met Jared Leto. I sighed and said yes but didn't really answer her other questions. The less you tell people the better because otherwise you end up with thousands of people coming up to you and asking you about the latest scoops. I learned that the hard way.
I got on my plane before anyone else could ask me something. I got to sit in business class since my work pays for me to travel. My interview with Jared had been in Germany, which had been great. I got a couple of days to sight see and a day of work. I would have liked to stay longer but work isn't going to let me have a holiday.
I stuck in my headphones and listened to the interview, with my laptop in front of me to write down the best parts. I loved working for Kerrang magazine. I started my apprenticeship there when I was eighteen and it has been two years.
The sort of jobs I got at first were really boring. I would just have to edit the articles and make the pictures compatible with the spreads. But a little over a year later I was offered a promotion to article writer. At first the articles were just things you could write from the office, but I've now been interviewing celebrities as well for around five months.
My first ever interview was with Vic Fuentes from Pierce the Veil. I was so nervous and it was so hard for me not to slip into fan girl mode when interviewing him. But after a while I started becoming used to it.
Recently though, I made a big mistake in telling someone I would be talking to Jared Leto. In just a couple of weeks, thousands of people knew and were trying to ask me for autographs for them or to request the band come play in the home town. The funny thing was that the article was more about his acting then singing.
