Hermione POV
I sat in the common room doing my essay for potions class. The only difference from usual was that my eyes were red and puffy.
I still couldn't believe Ron had cheated on me with Lavender. I glimpsed at him from across the room. He was snogging Lavender, typical.
I looked at my blank parchment. I felt someone sit down beside me. I looked and saw that it was Fred.
" Hey Mione, sorry my git of a brother was such a jerk to you. It's bad enough that he cheated on you, but now he's snogging her face off. In front of you!" he said. I was surprised, The Fred Weasley, seemed genuinely concerned, and a little bit angry.
"Yeah, well I suppose I'll eventually find someone who actually cares about me."
"Well, if not, you're welcome to come stay with me and George!" Fred replied jokingly.
It wasn't until now that I realized how close together we really were. I felt my heart beat speed up.
"Hey Mione." said Fred
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Ron's watching us, wanna make him jealous?" He asked.
I thought about it for a minute." Definitely." I replied
"Please don't hurt me for this." he said, then pressed his lips to mine.
At first I just sat there in shock, but eventually kissed back.
I had liked Fred since 2nd year, but didn't think he liked me, now I wasn't so sure. This was probably just to make Ron jealous.
I felt someone pull us apart, an who was it? Ronald Weasley.
"What's wrong little brother?" asked Fred nocholantly.
"Let's see, hmm, well, you kissed Hermione, for one thing!" screamed Ron.
"Why would you care? You left Hermione." said Fred.
Before Ron had the chance to reply, stood up and shouted " I can't believe you Ronald Weasley! You leave me and then won't let me date anyone else?! You just won't let me be happy! You just need to except the fact that I'm with Fred now!"
I stormed out hearing someone behind me.
"Mione, I actually like you."said Fred
" Fred, saying that won't make me feel better, I appreciate the effort though." I said.
I felt myself get turned around and Fred's lips on mine. Ron must've come out.
Once he pulled back, I saw that there was no one around.
"If I didn't really like you would I've done that?" he asked.
I thought for a minute "No."
We walked back into the commons hand in hand. I was smirking at Ron the whole time. Fred kissed my cheek before I headed to the dormitory for bed.
