The weather was shit, as always.
I tucked the hood of my thick jacket over my head in a hope to keep out the rain, but it wasn't really working. It was raining sideways with a cold storm following it and my feet where soaked from my knees and down. My cheeks turned more and more red and cold with each step I took over the slippery asphalt, it stung like hell. The only thing good I got out of this was that I hadn't gotten my hair wet so far on this little adventure towards my house, but Mother Nature was never on my side. 60 feet before my doorstep, a gust of wind grabbed my hood and threw it back like someone dragging it off me with force. I winced with the sudden splash of water hitting the rest of my face and my hair started soaking up the rain like a sponge. Although it wasn't much of the brown mop on my head, it was still a bother.
"Fuck this weather".I managed to close the door and let out a sigh in relief as I was inside the walls of my house at last. Not that it was much to cheer about, but it was better then the cold rain trying to knock me over out there. My jacket, shoes and jeans where soaked and I changed myself to something comfy and dry as fast as I could. The feeling of warm fabric on cold, wet skin was the best feeling after weather like that.
"Enya? Is that you?" the voice of my mother rang through the corridor from the kitchen to the washroom by the main entrance. Her voice was as soft as always, hearing it always made me feel safe and calm. I finished changing in the washroom and brought my things with me to the kitchen, seeing that my mum had started on another of her knitting projects. Black and grey yarn was spread out through the room and I didn't see her at first.
"Yeah, sorry I'm late. I lost track of time and missed my bus" I called out, fishing for my phone in my pocket as I watched my mum's head appear from somewhere when she reacted to my voice. Her hair was messy and up in a big bun, the only thing to keep that wild thing in place. Her hair was blond with a dark after growth, as thick as horsehair and as curly as a sheep. Dark bags rested under her emerald eyes and a tired smile formed on her face, making her cheeks round. The time she smiled was the only time she looked somewhat healthy, she was a walking skeleton.
"Oh no worries, love! I didn't start on the dinner because I figured you'd be late" she said in her thick, British accent and made her way over to the sink to finish the dirty dishes. My father where American and my mum was from London and she refused to drop her accent after living in the states for 5 years.
Mum stopped cleaning and sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. "Enya, would you make yourself an omelet or something? I'm too tired to make anything right now, I'm sorry dear" she said in a tired voice and turned over to me with a worried look on her face.
"Don't pout like that, you have enough wrinkles as it is" I said with a chuckle and kissed her cheek softly before heading to the fridge. She giggled and smiled before leaving the kitchen to go to bed. Looking at the clock, I noticed it was already quite late. After some food, I guess I'll be spending the rest of this Friday on the internet.Upstairs in my room, I tucked myself inn under my duvet and leaned against the wall with my pc on my lap. It was an old one but worked just fine, even tho it was too slow for my taste.
I often spent my nights like this, scrolling through social media and reading about whatever popped up. But I never expected this to pop up on my screen.Someone send me a friend request. It was a girl with white hair and blue eyes, a black choker like my own around her neck and wearing a black corset like top. "Simone Madeline Traad" I whispered her name out as I flipped through the pictures. She was obviously a goth, and quite an attractive one too. She had big breasts and a body to die for, something I had always wanted. No matter how hard I tried, I would never satisfy myself. But I guess that was the prize I had to pay to be born in this body.
I kept looking through her profile and read her posts, she didn't seem half bad. She liked the same heavy-metal bands that I did and even had one of the same T-shirts. I always wore black T-shirts and tops with dark jeans, I didn't look good in anything else. To top it off I always had a choker around my neck and dark eyeliner to make my wide eyes seem smaller. But this girl was much prettier then me, no, she was beautiful.
My heart skipped a beat as I accepted her request, and I had a slight hope she wouldn't be like those other ghost friends who just kinda stuck around and popped up on your feed but you didn't actually know them. But to my surprise, a got a message two minutes after.I didn't dare to open it at first. My mouse was resting over the small button with her name on, I just needed to click it. What if it's spam? No, it can't be.
And before I knew it, her message spread on my screen and my eyes started reading it down word by word."Hello there!
I'm Simone Madeline Traad, I'm a member of The Crimson Crow.
What is that, you ask? Well we hang out around the bar at 21 Garntraad Street, if you're interested why don't you come down and say hi? We don't bite, unless you want us to ;)
It's never empty there and we have lots of events and socializing games!
Everyone is welcome!- Simone <3"
I knew it would be raining for the rest of the weekend. Watching the drops run down my window beside my bed, I sighed and closed my pc. It would be cold as hell to go back out there tomorrow. But what else would I do if not keep living this boring life? Wake up, go to school, go home, eat, read stupid articles, go to sleep, repeat. I had no plans this weekend anyways, so why would I hesitate?
