"Just go if you want to go!" Reyna yells as she slams in her bedroom door, in her older sister Hylla's face. She listens as Hylla's footsteps get fainter as she walks away. Reyna slides down the wall and sits on the floor. She blinks her eyes furiously, trying hard not to cry.
Reyna does not want her sister to go off to collage. If Hylla goes to collage, that means Reyna will have to go live with a foster family. She loves her sister and doesn't want to leave her.
Two more years. Just two more years. Can she not put up with that long? Am I such a terrible person to live with?
Reyna stands up and kicks the wall, leaving a hole. She blinks back tears and punches the wall leaving another whole. She stops and throws herself onto her bed. She looks at her hand which is blood red. She wipes her eyes, trying not to cry. She sits up and takes off her boots and socks. She rubs her foot, that kicked the wall. She takes a shaky breath and lays down, staring up at the ceiling.
