He smelt like whiskey and lost dreams
And I wanted to drown in him
With a cynical smile and a wink of his eye he had me hooked
I might have loved him if given the chance
But his heart was ice and my love was for sale
Still we kept each other warm on cold nights
He was like fire and I was like earth
He consumed until there was nothing left
And I gave until I was all dried up
I'll never forget the passion he sparked in me
Nor the heartbreak he left in his wake.
