I tried my best not to sigh. Pinakinggan ko lang si Mama over the phone. She's been ranting about this upcoming party and I don't even know why I should be listening to this.

Ohkay. Don't think of me as a bad child. Well of course, I know you can feel me too. Pero kahit naman mag-whine tayo about this, we can't do anything about it right? Hahayaan lang natin na mangyare 'to hanggang sa parang walang nangyare at mapapansin mo nalang na nangyayare ulit kapag nangyare na talaga ulit. Get me? Get me? 

No matter how long you've been a child to your parents, you'll never get use to it.

Ohkay. Don't mind me. This is just my way of blocking my ears from my mother's rant. And can you notice it? I've been using English endlessly... AAAHHH. Nooo.

"You look funny." Nagmake face nalang ako at inirapan siya. Napabuntong hininga ako, totally forgetting that Mom's on the other line. Oops!

"Are you even listening to me, Gabrielle?" Sorry, Ma! "Anyway, don't forget to get here tomorrow. Am I clear, Gab?"

"Opo, ma."

"This is a big business deal." I know. I know. Pailang ulit mo na Ma. Ohkay fine, masama talaga akong anak. Ugh."And bring Lance with you. Okay?"

And heck yeah, may problema pa nga pala ako.

"Ma, kelangan ba talaga?" I nervously asked.

"Of course! My amigas can't wait to see my daughter's first boyfriend because they know that you're so pihikan. If not pihikan, so manang. I won't let them label my unica hija again!"

"What if hindi pumunta si Lance?"

"And why won't he come?" Shoot. She sensed it. Alam niyang nagiging suspiscious ako sa pagtatanong. BAD MOVE!

"Well, you know. School makes us busy and.."
