"You have a dog?" Blake asked. "I thought you had a black cat called Thirteen."
"Thirteen died." I sighed. "My poor excuse of a father sent me Alpha instead of money for child support. I was ten and Alpha was only a puppy, so I was glad he sent him, but I didn't know he bought him with child support."
"What is he?"
"A husky. Alpha!"
Alpha crawled under the fence and ran up to me and took the turkey. Another dog crawled under the fence and ran to Alpha. It looked like a mix breed of a collie and a lab. Definitely a rescue dog.
"Who's this Alpha?" I asked him and looked at the other dog's collar. It said 'Whiskey'. Its a beautiful name if you ask me.
"Well hello Whiskey. I'm Tuesday." I said holding out my hand. She placed her paw in it, then set it back on the ground. I stood up and my phone started ringing. I looked at who was calling me.It was from an unknown number.
"Hello?" I asked
"Hey, Tuesday. What's up?" Lizzy asked. I guess she's calling on her mom's phone.
"Nothing. Just hanging out with Blake at my place."
"Okay. I'll leave you alone then."
"Wait what are yo- eww stop."
She started to laugh. "Just kidding. Why didn't you answer my call earlier?"
My face flushed red "Umm..."
She laughed again. "I knew it. Did you lose your V-card, yet?" (A/N: \(° - °)/ I don't even know)
"The first one. Where are you now?"
"In the parking lot of
Wal-Mart. I'm waiting for my mom to get something she left.""Okay I'll see you later."
"Bye."
I hang up and walk over to Blake. He was playing with Alpha.
"So, what do you want to do now?" I asked.
"Not sure yet." he replied. "I guess we coul-"
My phone rang again. It was the same unknown number.
"Hey what's up Lizzy?" No response. "Lizzy?"
"Tuesday?" she whispered.
"What's wrong?"
"Meet me at the hospital" she groaned. "Or the morgue..." she whispered the last part.
I heard a clunk, which means she must have dropped the phone.
"What's the matter?" Blake asked.
"We gotta go to the hospital now!" I yelled/cried. I ran inside and grabbed a leash, since Alpha ran in with me. I literally jumped in his car, Alpha and Whiskey following me. Blake started up the car and drove as fast as we could to the hospital.
~Timeskip to hospital~
We were waiting at the hospital for almost half an hour before we saw Lizzy. We ran up to her but a nurse stopped us.
"She's in a bad condition. You can't see her until she gets a little better." she said.
"What happened? Will she get any better?"
"She's in a coma, and she might not be able to wake up in six months to life."
I hugged Blake's chest and cried. Why does this happen in life?
I felt something wet on my head and I knew Blake was crying too. Not as hard as I am, just a few tears.
We walked back to the car and drove back home. I dropped off Alpha and Whiskey then we went to Blake's apartment. I walked through the door and dropped everything on the floor, including myself.
"Come on Tuesday, let's call it a night. We'll deal with everything in the morning." Blake whispered, helping me off the floor. I walk to his room and sat on his bed.
"Why do I feel like it's my fault?" I asked. "Why did this happen to her?"
"Just lie down. You need some sleep." Blake whispered.
"Okay, I'll try."
