Peace

Deep in the ground,

Not a whisper, not a sound.

Six feet under the dirt

With a grave stone displaying his work.

Rest in peace it read,

Where his body lay dead.

But he was dead before he died,

All you had to do was look in his eyes.

Tortured by body and mind,

Before he finally resigned.

Even though his life ceased,

I still hope it brought him some peace.

Where he lies underground,

Silence all around.
