"Are you Ok?". My Aunt asks me as she drive home. "Yeah fine". I say quietly. "I think it will be good. New house. New school. It'll be fun". She says in her American-Italian accent. "Yeah". I say sounding even sadder. "Clarke it's going to be hard but California's great it has-". I interupt her. "If it's so great then why did you leave". I say angry. Maybe is she had brought us there when we were kids I wouldn't have to go through this. We wouldn't have to leave anywhere, we wouldn't have to miss anywhere, we wouldn't have to leave anyone behind. My aunt pulls over. "What's that suppose to mean?". She says trying to stay calm. "If you just moved us there when we were kids we'd get to stay together and I wouldn't have to leave my friends!". I shout. "I couldn't move you like that your lives were here and that wasn't my decision to make". She says calmly. "Are lives are here now." I say calming down a little more. "It's still not your decision to make". I say looking at her. She gives me a stern look. "I sat you and your brother down and you agreed to come with me". She's beginning to raise her voice. "I didn't have a chose". I say sternly. "Damn right you didn't Clarke your 17 you brothers in collage he has a job, a place to stay. You don't have a job or a-". "I can get one". I say loudly. "Clarke you wouldn't be able to find a job that will be able to pay off the house". I look down thinking that I was stupid to think I could do it. "I moved here all those years ago to take care of you. Your mother wanted you here until you were old enough that you could have Irish roots so that you could have her wherever you go. When she died when you were young I promised her I'd give you both the best chance at life. You could make a better life for yourself in California. You mother didn't want you or your brother to stay here forever she knew there weren't alot of options for you here". "What about Jaden? Wouldn't it be better for him to move". I ask her. "Jaden is one of the lucky few that has an apprenticeship in engineering. He's already living his dream. I want you to live yours. There are alot more publishing company's in Cali. You can study literature if that's what you want in collage after senior year. You could be the writer you've wanted to be since you were 10. I know you can do it Clarke". She gives me a quick smile. And starts the car. There's silence for a few minutes Aunt Allie breaks it by saying. "Oh and Jaden's staying until tomorrow night so you to can have you last night together ok?". She asks me. "Ok". "We sound like Hazel and Gus". I say laughing. "Who?". Aunt Allie asks. "Hazel and Gus from The Fault In Our Stars". She looks at me as if I'm crazy. "That movie I showed you last week". I explain to her. "Honey you show me many movies". I roll my eyes and we laugh. Once we get to our house I see alot of figure through the window. "Who's here?" I ask Aunt Allie. "I don't know". She says as she unlocks the front door. Most of my family and Elsie jump out and say "Surprise!". We go it and hug all of the in the distance I see my cousin/other best friend Ollie. Who I haven't seen in about 3 months. She runs over and hugs me followed by Elsie. We stay out for a while while I talk to my cousins and my Mums 3 sisters. (Aunt Allies my Dads sister he left us when Mum was pregnant with me). Most of the Byrne side of the family (Mums side) are manly boys. Me and Ollie are the only girls. One of Ollies brothers lift me up put me over there shoulders and runs me around the house. They always do this to us. It's fun to have them around. All we do is mess around and they just throw me and Ollie around. Finally we escape them and and sneak down to the bedroom. Which is only half packed. I convince the girls to help me with the rest . "I'm really gonna miss you". Ollie says. As she folds up the remaining clothes. I carefully stack all my books into a huge box which is full. I have like 5 books left I stuff them in my Carry on bag. "I can't believe we didn't make time to see eachother for a whole 3 months!". She says. "I know we were busy with school and stuff". I says. I kneel down to help them with the rest of my clothes. "Still I can't believe your leaving we have so many memories here". Ollies says looking sad her black hair covering her face. "We'll make new memories in California". Elsie says. I look at her shocked. "What you think we won't visit you? You can't get away from us that easy". She smiles at me I huge her. "Lets talk about something else shall we". Ollie suggests. "Yes!". We both agree. And that's what we did until one o'clock in the morning when Aunt Allies came in and told the girls it was time to go. We're all in tears now. We squeeze eachother. "Good luck tomorrow Elsie!". I say sobbing. She squeezes me harder. "I love you both". They both squeeze me harder. We eventually let go off eachother and I watch them get into the car. My brother Jaden puts his arm around me we walk into his bedroom lie on the bedroom while I crying then evenually we go asleep
