Athena's POV
Just as I entered my house I was met with screaming, I don't even flinch as a I make my way to my bedroom. I was met with a blow to the shoulder and immediately looked up in search of which of the assholes I call my family shoved me. Right away I looked up being five feet tall and saw a six foot tall blonde guy and knew it was Tristan.Tristan is my brother; well step brother, his dad married my mom because I'm not gonna lie we were as poor as shit before billionaire Jim showed up and somehow found love is a drug addicted woman who can't even stand up for herself let alone her 17 year old daughter. She's seen me get the shit kicked out of me from my darling step brother, let her loving husband hit on me every time he speaks to me, and lastly she let the only thing in my life go because she cares more about drugs than my little Adeline.
Adeline is my little sister who when she was only 5 years old she was taken by the various "sperm donors" that have inserted themselves into my mother. She was taken from my mother because our neighbors constantly having to babysit her when they would find her wandering the streets. The human service then took her but some reason left me.
Anyways back to current time.
I looked up at Tristan who was grinning. "Move out of the way slut don't embarrass me in front of my friend." He said next to a guy of the same height but with brown hair and dark brown eyes. "Uh I'm Atticus." the boy responded awkwardly but I gave back no response because I was running into my room.
An hour later there was a knock at the door. I hesitated, "Go away Tris-" I started but was interrupted. "It's Atticus, may I come in?" He said calmly against the door. I opened it quietly, cautiously "What do you want." I said with a whisper. "I just wanted to see if you were okay." He said with a concerned look on his face. "Is this some kind of prank? Where's Tristan?" I said sheepishly. "He's arguing with his girlfriend on the phone and told me to go home so I thought I'd stop by before I did." He said with the same look. "I'm fine." I muttered closing the door while holding back tears, but suddenly his foot wedge in between the door and the frame. "Please talk to me, I didn't know Tristan was like this." He said looking down. "Well you know he's gonna kill me if he sees me talking to you." I said dismissing his sympathy. "Why don't we just go for a ride?" He replied opening my door and grabbing my hand with a smile.
This was the first time I had sincerely smiled in years.
