********** KRYS'S POV **********

I wake up on the couch. Joy. Nothing like a stuffy nose and a crick in your neck in the morning. I drag myself out of the living room and put the puddled ice cream back in the freezer. 6:37 a.m. I don't have to be at the office till 8. Oh, well, a LONG, HOT shower is just what i need. After my much-needed refresher, I make myself and omelet and sit at the table. I try to eat my breakfast in peace, but yesterday's paper is glaring at me. What if Stark lied? I mean, it wouldn't be the first time, but the least i could do is read the article. i finished my book 2 days ago, and i'm dying for material.

" At the highly anticipated press conference closely following his return, Anthony Edward Stark unveiled his "secret" to the world. He states he is the infamous Iron Man whom reportedly attacked and killed Obediah Stane on the rooftop of his building a week ago with this special suit, whom some say saved his life after his recent disapperance. No witness accounts are available to protect this claim, but it seems that Stark has almost confessed to it. The Iron Man has been spotted throughout the city since this incident. Showing up looking almost disheveled and guilty, Stark argued with Christine Everheart, head reporter for the top-selling Vanity Fair then became flustered. When confronted by Colonel James Rhodes, Stark admitted to his involvement in the actions. Also new, Stark seems to have a piece of his own tech, the Arc Reactor Implanted in his chest. No medical records have been permitted on Stark's well-being. During his suddenly-called conference, stark neglected to give information on his sudden disappearance for the last 3 months, as well as vanishings for social events such as the recent Apogee awards. No new intelligence has been released on Stark, but our reporters are on the case."

Of course they are. Those people just never know when to give up. Why not leave the man alone? If he wanted you to know about his whereabouts or health he would TELL YOU. Obviously, he is hiding something. Maybe more than one something. And i can theorize why. When something hurts, you don't bring it up. Whatever he saw, it changed him. He can can never think about life the same way again, and why bother someone else? everyone is always putting up a front. A mask of okay-ness. Of don't-worry-i'm-fine-ness. These reporters are a perfect example, and they force everyone else to feel like they have to. If Tony could tell what happened  without people hounding him, he would. Without constant questions or judgement. Mics in his face. Lights flashing. Expectations rising. If only we could be real.
