My mom, dad, brother, sister, and I were riding in a car on the way home from dinner at a restaurant we had never been too. It was so good and my family and I were fat and full.
On the ride home, everyone was tired, so nobody was really talking. I put in my headphones and began playing, "Skinny Love". It was one of my favorite songs, and it's always perfect to listen to.
As I began to slowly fall asleep, I hear a loud horn. I quickly look up to see what it was, and end up looking at headlights coming straight at us. My mom starts to quickly swerve away from the dark truck coming towards us, while screaming at the same time.
But it wasn't fast enough.
I hear a crash and everything goes to a blur as we were hit.
_______
As I gained consciousness, I slowly opened my eyes and didn't realize where I was. I looked around and I was in a room with wires hooked up to my body.I looked at the bruises I had on my arm, and it all began to come back to me.
The music, the swerving, the screaming, and.... the crash.
I tried to yell, but I couldn't. I guess my throat was dry and weak. A sudden thought came to my mind about my family, and where they were. I quickly jumped out of the bed and ran to the front desk, which wasn't far from my room.
I tried to ask the lady where my parents were, but I still couldn't speak. My mouth was to dry and soar to say a word, so I grabbed a pen and a sticky note that was sitting next to me, and quickly began to write down, " I NEED TO KNOW WHERE MY FAMILY IS!!!". I handed her the note right after I had written down, and she told me to go to the doctor who was standing next to my room, probably wondering where I had gone.
I ran to him and he looked at me like I was crazy. I began to try and talk again. No words. I saw a water fountain and I took a couple large gulps and I was able to speak enough to to wear he could understand me. He told me to sit down in my room, but I refused to until he told me where my family was.
He pointed down the hall to where my grandparents sat, and a quickly ran to them. I was getting very light headed to the point where I almost passed out because of all the moving I had done. Not to mention I'd just gotten into a car crash. They saw me coming towards me and I could see that there eyes were puffy like they had been crying, and they had tear stains on their cheeks. I knew something was wrong right away. I automatically assumed the worst and stated crying as I was a few feet away from them. They looked at me and both hugged me tightly as they had a sudden sense of relief just from me being there with a few bruises and scrapes.
