"The future is scary, but you can't just run back to the past because it's familiar. Yes, it's tempting, but, it's a mistake." - How I Met Your Mother

Hermione's POV
It's been a week since I sent Draco the text and he responded the next day, "Hello Hermione, I was thinking we could meet up some days at the hospital whenever you have a break because I'll be visiting my mother everyday. Text me the days you have breaks/are free." I texted him back and said we could meet up on Tuesday the following week around noonish because that's my usual break if it's a normal, non-busy day, which most Tuesdays are. And today is that day. I've had a lot on my mind lately with the newly forming "friendship" with Draco and the case I'm helping Harry and Ron with. Last Friday, Harry informed me that Azkaban has had no break outs. We are researching and interviewing the remaining pureblood families and have come up with nothing so far. I'm starting to think it may not be a pureblood. I get out of bed after thinking of all the new things that have come to be. I get ready for work and apparate.

I check in and go about my usual schedule and make sure to check on Narcissa. I go into her room and find her in her usual position on the hospital bed. She is usually asleep because of her condition. The only thing we can do to help is continue to observe and test her until we discover what is wrong with her. In the meantime, we try to let her rest and be comfortable. When she is awake, Draco is usually there to keep her company. I check all her vitals and there has not been any improvement. We still haven't come close to figuring out her illness but we won't stop until we do. I check the time and see that I need to go to my first appointment.

The appointment is a little girl who has a cough so I prescribe a potion for her to take everyday for a week instead of the usual cough potion that you only have to take once because she is too young. My next two appointments are the usual, people with colds or sore throats. Sometimes my job can be boring and repetitive but on the outlier of days I get to save lives. Those days are the reason I became a Healer.

I head over to the 'reception' desk where people check in and give Evelyn, the 'receptionist,' the paperwork I filled out from my last three patients. When I'm about to walk away Evelyn says, "Hermi- I mean Healer Granger, there is someone who is looking for you in the waiting room. I forgot his name though, my apologies."

"Evelyn I've told you, you can call me Hermione, I honestly don't mind. And thank you for telling me about Draco," I tell her. I really hate when people call me by my surname because it reminds me of my Hogwarts days. I tell Evelyn that I'll be taking my break now and walk into the waiting room and see Draco sitting in one of the many chairs waiting patiently. When he sees me, his face lights up for a split second.

"Hello," He greets me, then smiles. I wonder why I've never noticed how nice he looks when smiling before. Probably because he's never smiled at you before, I say to myself.

"Hi," I respond while smiling back. "Do you want to apparate to a better tea shop than the one upstairs? The cafeteria upstairs is rubbish and too bloody expensive. I know a muggle place that has the best golden chamomile tea you'll ever have. Chamomile is my favorite flavor of tea."

"That sounds excellent. Chamomile is my favorite kind of tea also." Draco told me.

"It amazes me how much we have in common and how much time we've spent being enemies. I'm glad we put aside our silly prejudices and childhood torment and we can be friends now." I marveled.

"Same here. I was blinded by blood prejudice that my father raised me to believe. Now that I actually know you, I've found that you are a very wonderful person." He remarked. I felt my cheeks flush with heat due to his compliment.

"I'll side apparate us to the shop," I say trying to change the subject. We apparate near The Little Tea Shop, a nice and cozy muggle tea shop on the square near my apartment. When we arrive I lead the way to the shop and he opens the door for me.

"Thank you," I tell him while walking into the shop. He's quite the gentleman, I thought.

"You're quite welcome," Draco replies and yet again demonstrates his dazzling smile. Did I just think that?

We both find a nice table next to the window and I ask what tea he wants and I go up to order two golden chamomile teas with honey.

"That'll be £4.50," the shop owner tells me. I hand him the money and grab the two cups of hot tea. While trying not to spill the scolding tea, I walk over to our table. I hand a cuppa to Draco and he says thank you. We sit and chat about our common interests (which, much to my surprise, is a lot), things we're passionate about, and many more things. Before I even realize it, its already 5 minutes before my break ends.

"It has been such a lovely time but I really must get going. My break is almost over and I have a few more appointments to get to" I tell him feeling sorry that I have to end our conversation so soon.

"Oh I didn't realize the time. I also had swell time. I hope we can do this again next week if that is still okay with you?" Draco asks me looking hopeful. I tell him that I would love to do this next week and I disapparate us back to St. Mungo's. Once we arrive I tell Draco to meet me at the same place and time next week. We say our goodbyes and depart to my remaining appointments thinking about the great time I just had and hoping it becomes a weekly thing.

I'm so sorry for the wait and this short kind of "filler" chapter. I am on spring break this week so I'll be writing more so I will hopefully upload another chapter that has more content. I never expected more than one person to read this so I am so thankful for all of you who are still reading. Please vote if you enjoyed it and if you didn't please leave a comment so I can know and hopefully do a better job next time.
