(6 years old)
It was nearly the end of the year so today was the day when my whole class go to the zoo in Dover, as this is we lived. I sat on the coach next to my best friend, Maddie. We were so random and funny together. I remember first meeting her and making friends. We were sitting next to each other when the teacher was calling out the register.
***flash back (5yrs old)***
"What's your name?' she asked me.
"Bethany," I replied, "what's yours?"
"Maddie." After a few minutes, she asked me "what's your name again?"
"Bethany, what's yours again?" I answered.
"Maddie." This went on for a few minutes.
"You've got your shoes on the wrong feet," I said.
"I know, I find it comfy!" She said and we both laughed.
***end of flash back***
"Will there be horses at the zoo?" I asked Maddie.
"Maybe," She replied. "Will other be horses Miss?" Maddie asked the teacher who had come to do our seatbelts up.
"I don't know, maybe," Miss Cambell smiled at me, knowing that I love horses and ponies.
***flash back (just turned 6yrs old)***
"Bethany!" My mummy shouted up the stairs. "Come down here!"
I ran like a herd of elephants down the stairs and into the living room. She had the laptop turned on.
"Would you like to go horsey riding?" She asked me.
"Yes!!!!!!" came the reply with me jumping around the room, pretending to be a pony.
So on Saturday, we went down to the stables and I rode a lovely white pony called Cleo. I smiled the whole way round and we booked a lesson for the following week. I was learning to ride a pony! A real live pony! By Monday, my whole class knew, including Miss Cambell. A boy in my class was at the stables too, because his parents owned the stables, that is how I knew him.
***end of flash back***
Finally, we got to the zoo and first we went to the reptile enclosure. There were crocodiles, lizards and spiders. Then we went to see the birds. Maddie and I made bird noises to get them to reply. None of them did. The boy I knew from the stables came up to us. His name is Aaron.
"They won't speak," He said.
"Why though? Can these ones not speak?" I said.
"I guess not!" He replied.
We all turned around to follow the rest of my class to the monkey and gorillas. Maddie disappeared to our other friends, but everyone had to hold hands whilst we walked around the zoo, so me and Aaron had to hold hands. Aaron's mum, Lou, was also at the zoo and snapped a picture of us. After we had walked around the zoo, we went to get an ice cream and go the shop and get a souvenir. By the end of the day we were tired and glad to get back on the coach to go home.
