I shoot up into a sitting position as a searing pain courses through my arms. It feels like I've been set on fire.

And all of a sudden, it stops.

"Pila lucis." I mutter and a small ball of light forms in the palm of my hand.

I hold the light up to my arm and see a tattoo. It looks like three bands around my elbow and a weird jagged tribal pattern type thing.

I recognise the symbol to be my family lines soul mark. It means that I have found my soulmate.

Sitting there against the bookshelves for a minute thinking about who it could be. I haven't seen many people since I've been in this dimension.

The only person that I've really spoken to is Luke. It couldn't be Luke. Could it?

I must've fallen asleep again because when I wake up again it's lighter and I can hear other people in the room.

"Michael?" I hear Luke's voice call out softly.

I peek my head around the corner of the shelves and he grins as he walks over to me.

"Nice tattoo." he comments.

"Uh... Thanks." I mumble, blushing furiously.

"It's glowing! Oh my god that's so cool!" Luke exclaims and pokes the now glowing tattoo.

I wince and jump away from him.

"Don't do that!" I hiss at him and I can feel my eyes glowing.

"Woah calm down dude." Luke says.

"I know sorry..."

"When did you get it?"

"This?"

"Yeah."

"Um... Last night."

"Cool!"

"Mhm."

"Wait... I feel like it's some cool sorcerer thing."

"It is."

"I knew it! What does it mean?" he asks.

"It means I've found my soulmate." I reply and I can see a wave of hurt and sadness wash through his pretty blue eyes.

"Do you know who it is?" He asks clearly trying not to show his hurt.

I shake my head and lie, "no,I have no clue. I didn't think they actually existed until now." I tell him.
