"No, please don't... don't kill my mother. I love her, please, no, no... Nooooo!"

I opened my eyes, startled by the same strange dream I had every night. I put my hands on my head, trying to shake off the lingering fear. Looking around the room, I tried to forget the dream's haunting images.

I'm Thea... just Thea. My mother died when I was a child, and my father went to prison for her murder. But that's not the whole story. We were a happy family—a mother, a father, and a daughter. A perfect, beautiful family. But one night, I woke up to the sound of someone screaming. I crept down the stairs to see what was going on and saw my mother, my father, and a stranger. The stranger held a knife and wore a bizarre mask. He stabbed my mother right in front of me. I called 911, but by the time they arrived, she was already dead. My mother was gone, and my father was sent to prison for her murder. Now, I'm the only one left. And that's my story. The only reason I'm alive today is to find my mother's real killer.

I'm 19 years old, with gray eyes and brown hair. I live alone with my cat, Nana, whom I adopted. I don't listen to anyone. No rules, no regulations—just me and Thomas. Thomas Brodie-Sangster. He's an actor and my dream husband. I've loved him since I was a child. I've always wanted to meet him, just to hug him for a moment, if he'd allow it. My room is covered with his posters. He's everything to me, and I even call myself Thea Thomas.

I got out of bed, brushed my teeth, took a shower, and threw on blue jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket. I left the house and just kept walking. I didn't know where I was going, just had my phone in hand and headphones in my ears, listening to my favorite songs. I was crossing the main road, looking down at my phone—one of my worst habits—when I looked up and noticed a car had hit me from behind. I dropped my phone on the road and bent down to pick it up when the driver stepped out.

Driver: "Hey! Are you okay? You alright?"

Me: "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention; I was looking at my phone and didn't realize there was a car behind me. I'm really sorry."

My phone cover had shattered into tiny pieces... damn, that was one of my favorite covers. You know what I'm talking about, right?

Driver: "It's okay. And I'm sorry for your loss."

He crouched down beside me, helping to pick up the pieces of my phone cover. I hadn't even looked at his face yet; I was too focused on my broken cover.

Driver: "Wait, is that Thomas?"

Before he could finish, I interrupted.

Me: "Yeah, that's Thomas Sangster."

I had a phone cover with Thomas's picture on it, and now it was ruined. I barely held back my frustration.

Driver: "Oh. And why do you have his picture on your cover?"

Me: "Because I love him. He's one of my favorite actors. He's so..." And then I went on and on, saying everything I knew about him. But in my head, I was thinking, "Oh God, what am I doing? Why am I telling this stranger all of this? What must he think of me?"

Driver: "Oh, I get it. Have you ever met him?"

Me: "I wish. It's my dream to meet him. I think one day I will. All I want is to hug him when I finally do." I said this while staring down at the road, tears in my eyes.

Driver: "Alright then... you can hug me."

If I hadn't looked at him just then, I would have slapped him. But when I looked up, my jaw dropped.

Me: "Holy shit, Thomas! Where am I? Oh my God, I can't believe this!"

And then he hugged me.

I thought this would be the best day of my life. I had no idea I was about to end up in a hospital.

A man on a motorcycle drove by and shot me. My arms, which had been wrapped around Thomas, were now soaked in blood. He lifted me up, panic written across his face, and rushed me into his car. I barely remember him shouting at his driver to go faster.

Thomas: "Keep your eyes open, don't leave me. I won't let you go."

After hearing those beautiful words, I closed my eyes.
