Last night, was a depressing night. My mom said that she was tight on cash, so we couldn't buy me new clothes for summer. I went to bed that night, all upset, when I saw a shooting star. I got down on my hands and knees, and made a wish. I wished for this, knowing fairly well that it was greedy, and then went to sleep. My dreams wondered, showing me all the cool effects of my wish, before I woke up.
I looked around, "Where am I," I asked aloud. "Why was everything so... so BIG!?" I tried to stand up, but instead I slipped on something slimy. I looked to see what it was, and was shocked at what I saw. I was a... a... A FROG!! Why was this happening to me? Was it because I wished for more cash inflow... wait... no... I asked for more... more green!
I sat down and buried my face in my hands. I sobbed because I didn't know what else to do. What did a frog do? I asked myself, leaving a trail of unanswered thoughts in my head. I sobbed harder. Why was I so sad?
"Why do you cry, miss? Wasn't this what you wanted?" A male's voice, soft and gentle, sounded around me. I looked up to see who had spoken, but saw no one.
"Who... Who's there?" My voice was cracked and shaky.
The voice replied, still as sweet as honey, "I am the Wish Granter, child." After he said this, a flash of light boomed in front of me. A tall, handsome man stood there. "Now, child, do you not like thy wish?"
I shook my head at him. "No, I don't... I didn't want this," I gestured at myself, "I meant cash."
He nodded and walked over. "You must learn to deal with things the hard way." He extended his hand, and helped me up. "I will make you a deal," he said. "If you promise to earn the money, and not wish your way out, then I will change you back, deal?"
I nodded, and the next thing I knew, I was in my room again. I hugged my pillow before going downstairs. I told my mom that I would work for my clothes. In the end, I got them.
