"It's hot as hell," I fanned myself with the paper in my hand as Jayda stood next to me.

It was graduation day and we were grouped by major and for whatever reason business major was in front of ours so Kelly was in the row ahead of us.

We looked up into the stands and Jayda spotted Cordell and Maleah Jade with her family.

My two sisters and dad were right in front of them as Kelly's family were right next to them.

"You think they know they're sitting right next to each other?" Kelly said loud over all the people.

"Probably not." I laughed.

He kissed my lips before we noticed people starting to sit, causing us to settle down and everyone to get seated.

After the longest hour and a half of my life, the speech was ending and I was ready to go.

I stared into space until everyone started standing up and I felt Jayda pull on my arm for me to get up too as I still stared into space, not thinking about much.

"-Howard University's Class of 2018!"

Everyone screamed, most of them throwing their caps in the air but bitch this stupid thing was too expensive to be tossing.

Kelly cut through the brown folded chairs and gathered me into a tight hug, until I felt him lift me up bridal style.

It was chaos as all these people ran around, trying to find their families, or talking to their soon to be life long friends and boyfriend and girlfriends.

Kelly walked us outside with Jayda following us and we waited in the grass for our families.

Once I spotted Kelly and I's dads talking and our families walking along side each other, I hopped down.

"Nai! Liv!" I ran to my older sisters wrapping my arms around both their necks and they squeezed me back.

"Hi dad," I hugged him as they walked. "Hi Mr. Oubre, Hi Tonya " I waved.

"Cari!" they smiled genuinely and I side hugged them both before they took turns hugging Kelly.

I hugged Kelly's sister and brother and turned my attention back to my small family, a little disappointed my mom didn't show, when usually it was my dad that didn't.

"So you mean to tell me, that's his dad?" my dad pointed between Kelly's dad and Kelly.

"Nice to finally meetcha." they shook hands and laughed with each other.

I unzipped the dark robe but still keeping it on cause I had nowhere to put it.

I hugged Jayda's family and kissed Maleah on her chubby, olive skinned cheek and she smiled.
