Hey guys! So this is just a book containing one shots that I write when I feel bored. This one has to deal with vampires and stuff. I'm not really that big of a vampire person, but that's how I came on this idea so I could try it out and see how well I wrote about vampires.
This won't be the only one shot on here. This whole book will include a lot of one shots that have nothing to do with each other. If you want to give me a topic to write about, comment down below.
There is a price however, to get more one shots. For this chapter, I want 5 votes before I continue on to write another one shot. I hope that isn't too much to ask.
Here's why I'm doing that. I have seven other stories that I'm trying to write, as well as final exams and a whole load of final projects for school so I don't have time to just update whenever. by asking for five votes, I'm giving myself a deadline so it'll be easier for me. Tell your friends to vote so that you'll get another one shot faster! ;)
Well thanks for reading!

My breathing was heavy, coming out in huge panting puffs. It was a struggle to remain calm. I continued to run through the forest, like my parents had trained me. I couldn't outrun him, but I could fight. I just needed to get to the place.
A cackle was heard from above and I looked overhead. There he was, River Alejandro, the town's mystery boy. He was the vampire I'd been assigned to bring in.
"You can't run forever vampire slayer. I'm faster and stronger than you'll ever be."
Just a little further, I urged myself. I couldn't stop now, especially since I was so close. I had to push myself. Suddenly, River came flying from the trees. He darted around me, as if taunting his prey. I regarded it and kept running.
Just then I was stopped. River pranced about right in front of me, causing me to bump into him, hard. I fell onto the muddy earth. My legs were grateful that they no longer had to trudge forward, but my mind was panicked, knowing this could only mean one thing: I was dead unless I could get myself out of this situation.
He knelt down on one knee, putting his face very near mine. I gave him my most menacing look, but I knew if he kept staring at me like that with those hauntingly dark eyes, I would falter and break down. His head came in contact with my chest, causing me to catch my breath. I tried to remain calm as he listened to my rapidly beating heart. Then after a few seconds, his nose was sniffing my neck.
"Such nice smelling blood..." he said and lifted his head so he was staring directly into my panic filled eyes.
I spat in his face. "Don't you dare touch me!"
River chuckled. "Stop acting as if you're still in control."
I smirked, although it was hard to do so if I focused too much on his familiar facial characteristics. "Actually, I still am." I grabbed the garlic from my pocket and swiped it in his face.
He howled in agony, giving me the perfect opportunity to slip my knife out of my pocket. I remembered my fathers words as I brought my dagger through River's stomach.
"Don't kill him Jade. We want him alive."
He gave a shriek and a hiss as I wound garlic around the dagger so he couldn't take it out. Pure garlic, that's what hurts the most.
I propped River on my back and carried him to the hideout nearby. From there he would be taken to an examiner, who would try to find out more about the blood cells dwelling inside vampires.
River already knew what was bound to happen, and he writhed around as I hauled him closer to the hideout. It was a good thing vampires pretty much lost half of their body weight when they turned. I might not have been able to carry him if he weighed as much as an average teenage boy.
