"How is it they live for eons in such harmony-the billion of stars when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds against someone they know"-Thomas Aquinasm
If I were to move my 3 up into the third row from my side, then I can take out any 3's or 4's he heads over my way. I need to get my spy from the first row up to the second next to my 2 incase he brings over his 1 or 2, but would be the dumbest move because if he loses his one now, all I have to do is find the spy and kill it so my one can follow any moving pieces and take them out. then my next step would be to confiscate all the bombs he has planted, Even then I would have to first figure out which piece he moves so I can move towards those piece with my one and take it out to find the flag.
With those thoughts in my head, I move my 9 to the left a space so I can move my 3 straight up behind the other 9 I have in my fourth row. I finish my move and he moves a piece from the 5th row from his side up to the 6th so it's right in front of where I have my 7 in the 4th row on my side, with that he finishes his turn. I move my hand and place it over a bomb I have planted to trick him into thinking Its a moveable piece, there are times the trick works, others can see right though my 6 year old face. I look up at him and give in a quick smirk and we proceed in eye contact. Without looking away, I move my hand back to the 7 he had come in close proximity with when he moved his piece.
"Atta-" before I can finish saying the word the board and pieces comes flying up in front of me and James Tom, my opponent.
"Go back to playing with your sister's dolls, your playing a boy's game." Cale Linchy snickered
Cale was the tallest kid in his grade, he was probably considered the strongest too. Cale with dirty blonde hair and tan skin as if he lives outside. He was
"You know, Cale, jackson didn't do squat to you, why can't you just leave him alone? We were in the middle of a game." James Tom said calmly as he stood up.
"Does it look like I was talking to you James? No, so sit back down, and shut up." Cale pointed to the seat that James was sitting in, then he turns towards me. 1...2...3...4... 5... Cale had 5 people with him. there was no way I would be able to outrun all of them. I know they wouldn't hurt James Tom. Cale, his friends, and James Tom was all in the 3rd grade, while I was in 1st grade.
James Tom was a nice kid. Ever since he was my reading buddy in kindergarten, he has always said hi to me in the hallway, as the year went by, he taught me how to play checkers, stratego, connect four and other games. When Ella is with us we would play a match with her, me and James Tom against Ella, as he would teach me how to play. When my sister was busy, I would come meet James Tom underneath the slide and I would play a one on one match with him.
"Jack, come on, we can go over to the library." James Tom urged and he walked between me and Cale.
"Okay, Ella told me about this book she thought I might like." I pointed out to save myself. James Tom and I turn and start to walk away. "James Tom. I don't know how I'm suppose to thank you. You could be on Cale's side, maybe he wouldn't say such mean things to you during school."
"He's my brother, there is no way I can stop him from being mean to me. It's a siblings thing Jack." James Tom said smiling.
"Hey mouse! Come back here. I'm not done!" I hear someone call from behind. Mouse, was the nickname that Cale gave me. James Tom grabs my arm and start to pull be off to the library, James Tom was fast walking and I was jogging to keep up with him. I feel someone grab my other arm and the fear I have inside of me started to raise again. The next thing I know it feels like someone just tried to throw me out of my body with no successful attempt. I was on the ground with the throw. My body hurls away my brain but with my skull in tact it was unsuccessful it felt like my face was beating. I could all of a sudden i feel the blood flow through my head. I could feel my heart beating in my brain. the stinging on my left cheek bone felt unbearable.
