I do not own any of the characters in this story; they all belong to J.K.Rowling or are a free creation, and I am not earning anything by writing this story.
Thanks to my wonderful beta Breannatala :-)
Chapter 1 – Prologue
It was only one week ago that Harry had finally defeated Voldemort in a thirty-minute brain battle on the second day of his sixth year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Due to Harry’s ingenuous tactics during the battle, all Death Eaters had been pulled into death together with their master. However, somehow, Harry had managed to keep Professor Snape alive. Afterwards he couldn’t even remember why – maybe it was because the professor was fighting for the light side.
He still couldn’t believe it – he had trained spells and defence methods over the years and mulled over the contents of the prophecy during the whole summer holidays after Dumbledore told him about it at the end of his fifth year; however, in the end, it had been love that had helped him to fulfil the prophecy.
After this final battle against the evil, which had pulled the wizarding world into a war for a long time, he had endured a demise party, in which the Minister of Magic had awarded him the Order of Merlin 1st class, and a press conference together with his meddling old Headmaster.
Finally, he was allowed to rest in the Hospital Wing, where he found time and peace to think about his life and a future that was supposed to be better than his past had been. ‘Now I can really be myself and live my life as I wish to do – no more being forced to do something because I’m Harry Potter – maybe I should even change my name!’ he thought, while he absentmindedly endured Pomfrey’s last check-up before his release just in time for breakfast on Monday morning of the second week of classes.
-----
When Harry walked down to the Great Hall to meet his friends at the Gryffindor table, he still couldn’t believe that he had left the prophecy behind and all he had to worry about now was his classes. Sitting down between his friends, he put his head in his bag, feverishly looking for his timetable.
“I can’t find my timetable. What do we have first?” he asked, giving up.
“We’ve double transfiguration first and then a free period,” Hermione announced.
