i stepped through the door and could already smell the mix of weed, alcohol, and vomit that lingered throughout the high school party.
dinah pushed me in, "bitch, go! this is your first party. a fucking senior this school year and this is your first party. you're lucky I brought you to one of the best."
"dinah, i dont even wanna be here."
she shoved a red, plastic cup into my hand.
"ill be over here if you need anything. just go have fun baby girl. live your life!"
I chuckled at the fact that dinah was oh so optimistic about my awkward self being at such a party. i went into the kitchen and was soon having offers to hookup and to smoke being shoved down my throat. i said no, obviously. i pushed my glasses farther onto my nose before stepping out into the backyard. the backyard was huge and beautiful, trees and flowers everywhere. the summer house had a small lake right next to the back that was rather adorable. it had a bench in front of the rose bushes that lay in front and was clean enough to swim in. i walked over by a tree and soon sat under it, sipping my strong mixture of many alcohols that i couldn't identify. i jumped at the sound of a voice,
"well ill be damned..."
i turned around to see who it was, it was lauren.
"camila cabello?! at a party? wow."
"good to see you too laur." i stood up to leave, before i was grabbed by the arm.
"hey, babe. i didnt mean it like that. its cool that you finally came to a party. its an honor to have you at mine."
"thanks, but im not gonna be one of your little hookups."
"do you want a xan? i think you need a xan."
"no, lauren, i dont need a 'xan'. now please let me leave. i really dont feel like dealing with you right now."
"hey." she grabbed my arm again, gripping tighter this time, "i havent had a real conversation with you since like, tenth grade. and anyway, this is drunk lauren." she giggled and held the n out. i finally gave in.
"fine." I huffed, "but only for a little bit."
"okay!" she said with a smile, as soon as she took my hand, i knew something was going to happen.
