Chapter 3
I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache and a note from Chance on my bedside table.
Beloved Gantry,
Don't worry too much about everything. You'll fit in perfectly in a matter of days and we'll do everything in our power to make Ethan remember. Things will work out.
-Love Chance
I smiled to myself at Chance's excentries, and placed the note back down before rolling over in my bed and coming face to face with yet another person I was not expecting to see ever again when I enrolled into this school.
"Ra-Raver?!" I squeaked, quickly backing up and falling off the bed in the process.
"Good morning, beautiful," Raver purred, laughing at my uterly shocked expression.
"What the hell are you doing here?!"
"Is that any way to speak to your Head Master?" Raver asked, feigning hurt.
"Head-Head Master?!"
Raver sighed and got up from the bed, reaching his hand out to help me up, "really, Gantry? There's no need for all the exclamations, even if you didn't know that I run this school."
I was about to say something else, but I snapped my mouth shut and took his offered hand, giving myself a moment to collect my thoughts.
"What are you doing here, Raver," I said, after a moment. "Or rather what do you want from me?"
Raver reached forward and twirled a long lock of my pale blonde hair around his fingers. "Dear Gantry, have you forgotten so easily?" He tightened his grip on my hair and pulled me forward until we were nose to nose. "All I want is you."
I shivered, and he grinned, satisfied with my reaction.
"But--I--I'm a s-student," I stuttered, trying to catch my breath.
Raver's golden eyes flashed at the breathless sound of my voice and I could only imagine what was going through his head.
He dropped his head and murmured something about how I was also human, and then looked back up. "I suppose you're right. It wouldn't look too good on my part if I were suducing a student, would it?"
I shook my head quickly, and Raver laughed. He leaned in closer to me and I squeezed my eyes shut. I felt a him place a feather light kiss on my forehead that sent electric shocks through my entire body, but when I opened my eyes he was gone.
How does he do that? I wondered to myself, bringing my hand up to touch my forehead.
o.O.o
By the end of the day I was exhausted. Chance hadn't been kiding when he said I would fit in pretty quickly. A lot of people had already started approaching me and asking all kinds of things, like where I was before here, what my SA was, how old was I, and so much more. I had never talked so much in just eight hours before in my life.
"How are you holding up, Echo?" Red asked, coming over to me as I haphazardly shoved my stuff into my bag.
"A little tired, but I'll be fine," I told her, giving her a genuine smile while hefting my bag up onto my shoulder.
Red hooked her arm in mine and smiled brightly back at me. "Good, because we're going to a party tonight!"
I groaned and tried not to scowl, "do we have too?"
"Only if you don't want to be labeled as a social outcast for the rest of your duration at this school," Red said cheerfully.
"Whatever," I muttered, sighing.
