Chapter 2: Truce

Well, Chanyeol had been wrong about things hitting rockbottom. Things had in fact gotten much worse in the past few hours since both Baekhyun and him had left the police station with an order on their hands.

For starters, the order was effective immediately, so Chanyeol had no choice but to bring Baekhyun home to his father's mansion. Chanyeol had begged for the judge to allow them to live separately, but she had refused, claiming that it wouldn't even be a marriage if they weren't living together. She then proceeded to give them a lecture about how marital life is supposed to be about sharing, giving and taking, compromisations.

Heol.

Baekhyun wasn't being very cooperative, either. All he'd done the whole ride back home to Chanyeol's dad's mansion was to about how everything wasn't going according to his plan, and how his pregnancy was going to be one hell of a torturous journey because he was going to spend six whole months with a major jerk.

To which Chanyeol thought, "That makes two of us".

Secondly, the moment they set foot in the mansion, Baekhyun began to order Chanyeol's butlers around. Full-on giving out commands as if he owned the house.

He needs a glass of filtered water! He needs his sustenance! He needs a king-sized bed! He needs a bath of hot water! He wants to be alone!

He was just an intern, for God's sake. Trust Byun Baekhyun to be a bratty one at that.

Once Baekhyun had gotten everything he desired, he fell into a slumber on the bed in the guest room one of the butlers named Yixing had prepared.

The mansion fell silent and Chanyeol let out a sigh of utter relief as he sank onto the leather sofa in the living room. If this was what one day being married to a pregnant Baekhyun felt like, he didn't want to think about what six months would do to him. He was certain to go bonkers.

Just as he was about to take a breather, though, he received a text from his dad demanding his whereabouts.

He had totally forgotten that he had to attend a staff meeting held that afternoon. And where had he been instead? Held up at the police station for trying to stop Baekhyun from making him bald.

But that was now only the least of his problems. He had to break the news to his dad as to why Baekhyun was going to be staying here for six months without rent.

He went through the sequence in which he should tell his dad about everything:

1. Dad, Byun Baekhyun will be staying here for six months.

2. We're supposedly married because I need to learn the meaning of responsibility after having been caught in a fight I had not initiated.

3. Oh, and did I mention that that rascal of an intern is carrying your first grandchild? Yeah, he kinda is.

Chanyeol groaned into his hands as the idea of it played on his mind. His dad wasn't going to be too happy about any of what he was going to hear. Maybe he should give him something to drink first. A glass of whiskey might do it. News like this shouldn't be taken sober.

Then he would sit his father down in his favourite armchair in his work area before explaining to him the situation as best as he could. All he could hope for was that his father wouldn't get a heart attack for such heavy and sudden news like this.

"CHANYEOL!"

A thunderous roar from the front door causes Baekhyun to stir awake, muttering angrily under his breath at the fact that someone had awoken him from the good sleep he was having. Once he was awake, he couldn't go back to sleep so he hauled his legs over the side of the bed and made his way outside, rubbing his eyes and yawning. He walks down to the foot of the spiralled staircase from the second level just in time to see Chanyeol disappearing into a room, trailing behind a man he was all too familiar with -- the CEO of the company.
