I'll Adopt Her

We're a Family Now

Hannah's (POV)

"Wait what?" I said as I pulled away from Demi.

"I'll adopt you. I meet the age limit, I have a great job, and I have a house. Why wouldn't they let me adopt you. I meet the requirements." She said.

"But why? You barely know me."

"Because I've heard what foster care is like from some of my fans. People don't want sixteen year olds they want babies. There's a slight chance you'd get adopted. Then if you do you won't be able to see your brother at all. So I'm actually helping you."

"But what about when you go to different countries? Will I just stay here like Madison?"

"No you'll go with me. When you are officially my adopted daughter you'll go with me where ever I go. You might even get to see your brother when we're on the road."

"So are you just going to sign the papers or are you going to discuss it with your family."

"I'm going to have to discuss it with my family. But when they hear your story they'll have to say yes."

"Ok. Thanks Demi this means alot. But can we go to my school and can you take my boyfriend out. I really need to talk to him."

"Any other time I would say no but today there's an exception."

"Is the exception my dead fam-

Before I could finish my sentence I broke down into tears. Demi pulled me in for a hug.

"So Miss-" the detective said.

"Lovato." Demi said.

"So Miss Lovato we will need you to come in and fill some paper work out."

"Ok but can I make a few stops first."

"Sure."

Demi picked me up and walked to the car. She had to be strong to pick a teenager up. She placed me in her car and drove me to school. Once we got to the entrance she parked the car. I had stopped crying half way to school but I still felt the tears coming up in my eyes.

I walked through the doors and to the office where Drew was.

"Hannah!" he said.

I ran to him and jumped into his arms to hug him.

"What happened?" he asked.

"My parents and my brother are dead. My father killed my mother and brother then he killed himself." I said continuing to cry into his chest.

"Oh baby I'm so sorry." he said hugging me tighter.

"But why is Demi Lovato here? You should probably hide her from Sky."

I couldn't help but laugh because it was the truth if Sky saw her she'd probably kidnap her.

"You always know how to make me laugh at times like this."

"It's a gift." he said smiling.

"It sure is." after I said that I pecked his lips.

He smiled at me again.

"You never answered my question. Why is she here?" he asked pointing to Demi.

"Oh, she might be adopting me and I asked her to come here and pick you up. So come on."

We both followed Demi out the doors and to her car.

"Whoa!" was all Drew could say.

"I know right its amazing. Its better than Zane's." I said.

"It sure is." he said.

"He's met Zane before?" Demi asked getting in the car and starting it.

"Yes, he has."

"Have any of your other friends met him?"

"Uh ya my two best friends have."

"You didn't want them coming with us today?"

"Um you kinda don't want to meet Sky and Louis is probably studying."

"Why wouldn't I want to meet Sky?"

"She's kind of a fan of yours."

"I love all my fans. I would love to meet her."

"Maybe next time mo-" I caught myself just in time but I'm sure she noticed,"Demi I mean Demi. Just drive to your house now." I saw that she had a gigantic smile on her face.

She pulled out of the school and started driving to her house. We pulled into the drive way, got out of the car, and went into the house.

"Mom! Dad!" Demi yelled.

"Why are you yelling?" a lady looking a little older then Demi said.

"Dallas, where's mom and dad?"

"There outside."

Demi ran to the door, opened it, and yelled for her parents. She walked back to me and Drew.

"There coming." she said to us

I just smiled at her. Her parents finally came through the door.

"Demi what do you-" she stopped herself in mid-sentence, "Hannah what are you doing here?"

"That's what I have to talk to you about." Demi said.

"Oh, ok, so tell us."

"Ok I'm going to adopt Hannah."

After she said that I grabbed Drew's hand. He looked at me and smiled.

"What!?!" Mrs. De La Garza yelled.

"Ok hear just hear her story first before you say anything."

She turned her head towards me. Why is she looking at me? Oh right I'm the one telling the story.

"Ok so today I found my mom and brother dead. My father killed them but after he killed them he committed suiced."

I stopped, trying to hold back my tears. Drew rubbed his thumb on back of my hand. I took a deep breath and began telling it again.

"The detective said he's going to put me in foster care if no one was going to adopt me right then. If they put me in foster care I might not get to see my brother ever again. Demi wants to adopt me so I can see my brother."

"How is she going to do that?" Mrs. De La Garza asked.

"Well my brother is Zane Malik so it helps that he's a "famous" singer."

"So mom, dad can I adopt Hannah?" Demi asked.

This was the big moment for me. Choosing which way I'm going to go in life depends on the decision of this married couple. I could tell they had there doubts about Demi being a mom. They exchanged a few looks and then spoke.

"Demi you can adopt her." she said.

"Yes!" Demi and I yelled while hugging each other.

"But she's your responsibilty. You have to take care of her. Not just leaving her with me and Eddie."

"I promise I will." Demi said.

I pulled away from Demi, "Lets go fill those papers out." I said.

We left the house and went to the police station. The detective was waiting for us. He gave Demi the papers and she filled them out.

"Ok you have a hearing in ten minutes. All the judge will do is have you sign some papers and then Hannah will be your daughter." he said to Demi.

We walked to to the court house. Me and Drew sat outside waiting for Demi. We waited ten minutes and then she came out. She had papers in her hand. She held them up.

"Are those the adoption papers? Am I legally your daughter?" I asked.

"Yes, we're a family now!" she yelled.

I ran up and hugged her. This horrible day has turned into a really great one, I thought to myself.
