Here it is. June 4th. The day everyone's been waiting for since August 22nd. The last day of school. To be more specific, the last day of my junior year. It's finally 7th period and all I want to do is just get the hell out of here. I glance over at the clock. 5 more minutes till freedom.. I couldn't wait to meet my friends out in the courtyard and share the joy of no more school for 2 months with them. "My dear friends.." I thought "I'd do anything in this world for them". I thought about Aubrey, who was my best girl friend and the only other girl in our group other then me. It was good having a girl there to talk to about boy troubles, makeup, wardobe issues, and just girly things in trouble. Now don't get me wrong, I still do love my boys to death! Michael's face popped into my mind. Oh, Michael. Since he was the tallest and probably strongest, I loved getting piggy back rides from him everywhere we went. It sure does beat walking. Next comes Michael. Me and Michael are really good friends.. but me and everyone else knows there's something more there. He is more affectionate towards me then the other guys are and I don't know.. I guess I'm the same way towards him. We basically act like a couple everywhere we go, even though we really aren't dating. He really likes me, I know that much. Last but not least, I thought of Drake, who had moved to Georgia when we were in our freshman year. We were all devasted. Not seeing him in two years really took it's toll on me and everyone else, but he is finally coming back for the summer. The summer.. I can't wait for this summer to begin. Although I don't know what lies ahead, I do have a feeling it will be one of the wildest summers of my life.. and all the more better that I get to spend it with my best friends.
The ringing of the school bell jolted me out of my thoughts. Were my ears decieving me? Was it really time to go? Yes!
"Okay class.. that's the bell' Mrs.Thorton said. "Be sure to have a safe summ-" She couldn't finish her sentence because all of the students were already out of their seats and headed for the door. As much as I wanted to be one of those students, I stayed back after everyone was gone.
I went up to my teachers desk. "Bye, Mrs.Thorton. I hope you have a really good summer."
"Oh, sweetheart!" She pulled me into a tight hug, as if I was going to suddenly take off like those other kids. "Thank you. It was such a pleasure having you this year."
