The Morning After

A beam of sunlight crawled into the room and tiptoed it's way to rest across the couples eyelids. Tay was curled in a ball against Jenna with her face buried in the green nest of hair; Jenna's arm wrapped around Tay's small frame rising and falling with her even breaths. Jenna's eyes fluttered open and she raised a hand to block the cruel ray of light that interrupted her pleasant dream. She felt Tay stir and turn over but the brunette was still in a peaceful slumber.

Slowly, Jenna slipped from the bed and crept into the kitchen. She was going to make a very special breakfast for the two of them. It would hopefully be their last breakfast as just girlfriends. As she pulled a skillet from the cupboard she heard Tay's gentle steps on the stairs.

"Jen? Babe is that you?" Tay mumbled in her soft and raspy morning voice.

"Yes sweetheart. Go back to bed ok? I'll wake you when breakfast is done."

Tay turned and slowly made her way back to bed as Jenna cracked an egg and it sizzled in the pan. She searched in the cabinets for the nature valley granola bar box she had hidden a silver ring with emeralds on it in. She found it and put the ring into the yolk of Tay's egg. Hopefully she didn't swallow it but if she did it might be a better story to tell the family. Jenna hurried to make toast and get Tay back down because she could barely contain her excitement. As she cooked she started to sing.

I can't see through the stars in my eyes.

Tay heard Jenna's soft voice fill the home and smelled the food. She swayed back and forth dancing slightly while putting pajamas on because it was too early even for sweat pants. Once she looked, well, not nude, Tay went downstairs to see Jenna serving the eggs.

"Hello beautiful, care to join me?" Jenna asked.

Tay blushed as she realized Jenna was only wearing her underwear and a large WATIC tee shirt. "B-babe, do you have to tease me this early?"

Jenna looked at the clock and smirked, "it's only ten o'clock, now eat your eggs before they get cold." She then sat across from Tay and started nibbling her toast a little nervously as Tay got closer to the yolk. 

That was when Tay found it. She pulled her fork out and held up the ring, "Jen, what's this?" 

"What does it look like?" Jenna was blushing a little now

"Is this what I think it is?"

"it depends on what you think it is..."

"A wedding ring?" a smile raised slightly in the corner of Tay's mouth

"Ten points to Slytherin. Now, do I get an answer?" 

Tay immediately stood and threw her arms around Jenna's neck, "YES!!!" she shouted gleefully putting the ring on

Jenna kissed her softly and gently held her face.
