"W-WHAT?!" You stuttered.
The human in front of you was seething. "Well of course the oblivious sack of shit didn't realize this was a transmorphication circumference of some sort!" He shouted.
"You didn't either!" You shouted back, rubbing your forehead. "I didn't even know what that was... although I think I have gathered by now." You quiet down for a moment, listening to make sure no one overheard. The field was still silent except for the sound of the wind breathing through the rose tinted crops.
"I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FUCKING TURN IT OFF!" Karkat yelled back (after respecting your silence for a short time). He looked like he was about to blow a gasket.
You quickly scooted towards him and tentatively patted his face. "Shoosh," You hummed, mimicking troll actions. You patted his face again. His features relaxed. His human features relaxed.
Karkat didn't look that different in human form, the more you thought about it. He didn't have horns or fangs, nor did he have yellow eyes or grey skin. His facial structure was the pretty much the same, apart from the fact that his jaws were set in a slightly different way (probably due to the fact that he didn't have fangs anymore).
But you found it a relief that he looked so similar to how he usually did. He still had the same messy hair and slightly boyish features. And he was still pretty damn short.
"Listen," You said calmly, keeping your words slow and soothing. "We're on a strange planet right now that neither of us are familiar with. The drones are after us, but there's a plus side to all of this. You have a disguise. The drones are looking for a red blooded troll, not a red blooded human. Our main priority right now is to get to Earth. That is all we can do. Now, you know slightly more about this system than I do. I can help you when we get to Earth if you can lead us out of here." You pulled back from him, watching him slowly.
Karkat looked back at you, his human eyes slightly skeptical. After a moment, he grumbled "Well, of course. You don't need to tell me that. I am the leader after all, fucker."
"Mmm," You hummed in amusement, standing up. "I don't think this sun is radioactive like your sun."
"Yeah, we should get moving." Karkat agreed, starting through the endless magenta toned field.

"I found a town," Karkat stated.
You walked after him, spotting it as soon as he did. Muddy clay buildings were piled in rows, multiple levels on top of each other. Each level seemed smaller than the last, until the uppermost was simply a tiny adobe.
"Seems kind of lower income..." You noted under your breath "...but at least it is remote." A wooden sign stood a short distance away. The word 'Hotel' was carved into it, rather sloppily... and in the English language, surprisingly. "Should we stop? Or should we keep going?"
"We should probably stop. It's been at least fifteen hours," Karkat replied, too tired to even throw in jumbled obscenities.
You nodded. "But do we have any... what is your currency?"
Karkat reached into his pocket. "Grist. Yeah, I have a little. It should be enough for one night. I need some wifi anyway."
---
You were asleep very quickly. You had taken one of the two beds, preferring to sleep on a towel on top of the blankets in an attempt to avoid any creatures akin to bedbugs. Karkat sat on the corresponding bed, opening up Trollian on his husktop.
