Yami half-led, half-dragged me through the doors.
"Don't look back, Yugi!" he yelled. My heart thudded--I thought it was going to jump out of my chest. Hisa was screaming at us, threatening our lives.
"I'l get you two! I'll destroy you!" she yelled through clenched teeth. "And when I do, none of your little friends will be able to save you!"
The flames alighted the darkness that was engulfing us.
Suddenly, Yami skidded to a stop.
"Kaminari!" he cried.
Sure enough, Kaminari stuck her head through a burning window and screeched in reply, "Yami! Help me!"
"Yami!" I hissed. "We have to go!"
"No! Not without Kaminari!" he countered angrily. He began to dash towards the burning building.
"Yami!" I shouted, running after him. He was a fast runner for someone from the past. But I caught up to him, grabbed his collar, and pulled him away from Kaminari and Hisa.
"Kaminari, no!" Yami sounded like he was crying, but I couldn't look back. It was too frightening. It was too much. I shook my head, fighting tears.
But as the building crumbled, I found it difficult not to cry
