THE LANTERN SCRIPT 
CAST
Narrator: Jackie
Main character:Gigglewatt
Inventor:Professor Curtius
Orphan: Paul Sadman
Sad person1:Coda
Sad person 2: Bronty
Sad person 3:James

Narrator:         "Once there was a young alien girl named Gigglewatt, who was in search for gems for her happy planet."

Gigglewatt:     "I'm nearly out of gems! I need to find some quickly. I know, I'll try Planet Earth!"

Narrator:        "Giglewatt arrives at Planet Earth a few hours later, only to realise that Earth is covered in sadness and darkness..."

Gigglewatt:     "Why is this planet so sad? *Sees a little girl* Uhh, hello little girl! My name is Gigglewatt. Why is this planet so sad?"

Bronty:         "Oh, uh, hi Gigglewatt. My name is Bronty. To answer your question, Earth is sad because Paul Sadman told us everything deserves to be sad, and that everything has a bad side. I also have a problem. Can you help me solve it?"

Gigglewatt:     "Yes! Of course! I can help but just don't listen to Paul he's making up things that aren't true."

Bronty:        "My problem is that I have lost my soccer ball, and I'm really sporty so I'm really sad, it was my only one, but I still do not believe you."

Gigglewatt:     "Oh, is that your problem? I saw a soccer ball only just over there a few minutes ago. Would you like me to lead you to it?"

Bronty:         "Yes please!"

* She runs off stage, pretending to see her soccer ball.*

Bronty:         "Thank you, but Paul still might be right"

Gigglewatt:      "Paul isn't right and I'm sure of it"

Narrator:         "A few hours later Gigglewatt finds more sad kids and" solves their problems."

Coda:     "Thanks for helping me find my parents! I couldn't have done it without you."

*Change positions with coda and James*

Gigglewatt:         "Your welcome! Bye." *waves to Coda*

James:         "Thanks for helping me find my cricket bat now i can play cricket again."

Gigglewatt:     "Ok that's fine! I like
helping. People hope you have fun playing cricket."

*Rene swaps places with James*

Rene:         "Thank you Gigglewatt for helping me find bandages and  helping me recover from my broken arm, it really helped."

Gigglewatt:     "That's ok next time don't climb tall trees and be careful."

Rene:         "I will. Bye."

*waves to Gigglewatt and runs off stage*

Narrator:         "Gigglewatt felt proud of herself by helping the poor kids, but they still looked sad after Gigglewatt solved their problem. What was she going to have to do to make them happy? She walked down the footpath that was covered in black pebbles. She followed it while she was thinking of a solution to help them. She sees Bronty and she goes to say hello."

Bronty:         "Gigglewatt, I told my friend Professor Curtis about how you want to make us a happy planet. I told him how you helped me find soccer ball and he said he wants to meet you."

Gigglewatt:     "Thank you Bronty. Will you show me the way?"

*Bronty shows Gigglewatt the way*
