I squealed in delight as I ran in the flowers. Every time I stepped or jumped, petals flew everywhere. My tail wagged ferociously as petals rained down.
My sisters yipped happily during the flowery storm. The sky was a rainbow of blue, yellow, red, pink, orange, and.... grey?
BOOM
The sky exploded as electricity rippled through the atmosphere. Rain came down as a small drop, then buckets, then oceans. We were drenched in seconds.
I scampered inside the den, my sister following close behind. Our mother's eyes flicked with worry and we half tumbled, half ran inside.
"Pilac, calm down. The storm came out of nowhere. Of course they would be scared." My father spoke softly, running his tail over her flank.
My mother's breath slowed, and she seemed to calm down.
"Come here you three. You need to dry off before you get sick." Mother said with a soft but fim voice.
We padded over, shivering the whole way. Mother ran her tongue over our fur, ruffling our pelts, quickly warming us up.
"Mikash, do you think you could hunt later? These pups eat more then us combined." Mother asked, humor glittering in her eyes.
Father smiled, then curled up next to Mother. He wrapped his tail around her, protecting her from a nonexisting enemy.
Abah, Gilae, and I snuggled up to our mother's belly. Her warmth sent us into a comfortable sleep.
