I start to get nervous, what if they embarrass me in front of jamie? what if they make fun of me? what if I'm not in shape by then? all these questions kept running through my head as jamie got off the phone and walked over to me, just to be clear, jamie isn't my real cousin, he is a family friend,

" hey sweetheart," he whispered to me as he hugged me.

"hey jamie," I smiled,

" you ready to get started?" he asked politely.

"ye-" I was cut off by my phone ringing, mom.

"hello?"-me

"hey honey, we are leaving, so I wont see you for another 3 months. you better behave, and jamie will drive you home, him and I talked about it," she stated, I was surprised, I thought I had another week or so before they left,

"oh, ok well how am I suppost to, you know, get around?" I asked

" you'll find out when jamie takes you home," she says I look up to jamie with his hand in a check mark shape, almost as if he was stroking his imaginary beard.... awkward.

"ok mom well I love you," I said through the phone, slightly embarrassed,

"bye sweetie, I love you too, there is money on the kitchen table," she said before she hung up

"sorry," I said to jamie, my cheeks blushing red.

"its ok, hun" he replied with a friendly smile before continuing," shall we get started?" He questioned.

"yes, we shall" I laughed

We started doing normal stuff until it was time to leave.

" hey jamie can I drive to my house?" I beamed.

"you have your permit right?" he questioned nervously,

" of course! I've had it for a year now," I stated in a matter-of-factly tone. He handed me a laminated card,

"now you've got your license," he winked. I just stared at it in amazement,

"Jamie!!! Are you serious?!?" I screeched.

"yes ma'am," he stated proudly,

"Ew, don't call me 'ma'am', it makes me sound old," I said grossed out.

"you are old sweetheart, you're 16" he said as I just shoved him on the shoulder,

" so is that a yes? I can drive home?" I beamed.

"yes, you can drive home," he said
