I stepped out of the shower. The warmth that had comforted me just seconds before now started to leave as fear clouded my head.

Shakily, I dressed in a superman onesie and got into bed and hoped the cold, dark hands of sleep, although filled with nightmares would embrace me. I stared up at the ceiling, tears running down the sides of my face. Even sleep rejects me.

My palms grew clammy and I awaited the pain. Every second more terrorising than the last. I felt my hands loosening on the sheets after what felt like hours and sleep accepted me finally.

I awoke to the sun rays warming my face. I sat up waiting for pain to rock my body. Nothing. He didn't come. My eyes moistened with tears of joy, yet I silenced my thoughts, for happiness is temporary. Yet I found my self lavishing in this tiny piece of happiness like a kid getting a new toy.

I got ready. Feeling content i wore a pair of black leggings and a long sleeved burgundy dress. That flared at the waist and stopped just at mid - thigh. I was lucky it was a bit chilly outside.... bruises are to be covered.

I popped my head out the door listening for any sound. Nothing. Where was he? I quickly went down and grabbed an apple for breakfast. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.... and I most certainly don't need doctors pointing things out.

I checked the time and realised I had half an hour free before I had to get to school. So I stopped at Jasmine's hoping she was back from the hospital.

I made my way in and called out her name. As I walked up the stairs I heard muffled sobs. I quickly ran and burst through the door embracing my best friend- fuck that... my sister. "What happened Jaz?" I asked as she sobbed into my shoulder. She muttered incoherently and I slowly lead her to the bed where we both sat - me handing her a tissue with my arm still around her shoulder. "I - i- it's A-a-.. Ally!" She sobbed. "The d-d-doctors say she's only got a year more. The cancer spread." I let out a gasp as tears flooded my eyes and we both sat there crying in each other's arms. After Jaz's mum abandoned them, Ally was the only thing that kept her from spiralling into depression. Ally was her life.

The ride to school was deadly silent. We didn't need to speak to feel each other's pain. After a reassuring smile towards Jasmine we both got out and made our way in.

"Looky looky. Somebody's been crying her eyes out". Annnd the donkey ass, attitude filled, smirking and rude af Aiden just had to walk by my locker. "Did somebody's boyfriend die of boredom? Or can someone not even score a guy?" He said, leaning against my locker. My teeth ground together as I tried to calm myself down and stop the urge of ripping a chunk of his stupid gelled hair off. I counted backward.. 3...2...1... before slowly turning to him with a glare. "Keep your effing rich kid problems to your bloody self! We others have other issues in our lives that DO NOT involve relationships. And ex-cah-use me ; I'm not interested in begging someone for a relationship. So shut. Your. Darn. Trap, Aiden Black!" I said in a dangerously low voice that scared myself a little, fuming, and with the bang of my locker I turned on my heel and stomped away, leaving a jaw dropped Aiden in the midst of the hallway.

I walked into drama class. Spotting Hayden and Jaz immediately... noticing she looked somewhat happier, making me smile. I waved at them and went over to my partner - Matt. All the while trying to ignore the intense stare from Aiden. He was, flip it, is a douche and somebody had to let him know.

Matt, apparently not as playful as I originally thought, was actually helpful and we made progress. The only thing being is he kept signalling at a very frustrated Aiden who had a desperate girl as his partner. I'll admit it cheered me up... payback's a bitch.

"Well, we need to practice. How about I come over to you-" "no! I mean umm... no... sorry... my dad has er... a meeting... with uh... his businessy people... so urm no sorry you can't." I cut in with a scarlet blush. Well that was rude.

He, thankfully, believed it only sparing a suspicious glance before letting it go. "Urrm, how about we meet up at A Latté?" I suggested. Talking about the cozy little café a few blocks away from my house. "It's a plan!" He confirmed with a smile.
