Happiness is. . .
Autumn evenings
The leaves changing colors
Beautiful hues that could make anyone feel
as if they were in a wonderland
Enchanting oranges
magnificent reds
and Spectacular yellows
Happiness is
A cup of freshly ground roasted bean coffee
The aroma of Folgers Classic Roast
is also enjoyable as an alternative
its medium roast providing that rich and smooth
yet pure taste that i strive for.
Happiness is
Waking up to the previous and your mother gently brushing the hair out of your eyes in the morning after not seeing her for a year.
Her hair pulled back into a tight bun
small strands having fallen loose
tell tale signs of her having been cleaning.
Her smile curling into wrinkles of age and experience
each one representing a hardship she has encountered.
But the most enjoyable being her eyes.
The same eyes that we share
A complex mixture of rich blues,
complimenting greens,
and delicate hints of hazel.
Happiness is
Your father asking you to hold the back tire of a motorcycle
because he has nothing else for you to do
and that is the only thing he can think of to spend time with you.
Happiness is
Realizing the previous statement is a lie and that he really does care and he is proud of you.
He is proud that his son finally took the step to get out town
start a new life when no one else did.
He is proud that his son is finally following his dreams
Forget that the last thing i remembered for the longest time was my father crying
let's not focus on the sad or bad
Lets focus on the now
Lets focus on happiness
happiness is
That first time riding a bike by yourself
Your father letting go without telling you
forget that he lied, he had to for you to make that jump
Everybody tells lies,
And sometimes it helps you get through the hardships
Shit i'm slipping
to the happiness!
Happiness is
Your niece waking you up in the morning by
Not so "gently" hitting you in the forehead with her palm
or at times plastic toy hammer.
Her smile upon seeing you open your eyes
will make you forgive her complete rudeness
She is adorable
Bright radiant blue eyes like HER mother
That crooked smile she has already learned from her uncle
and of course that little bald head because
of an accident with scissors
She will smile that crooked smile
put her pointer and middle finger in her mouth and run away.
You won't resist the laughter.
Happiness is
Picking up your brother from work
and seeing the utter excitement in his eyes
He hasn't seen you in a year.
Taking your brother to lunch
and him ordering the usual
Cheeseburger no mustard
God save us all if there is mustard.
A large order of fries and a large pepsi.
You will get the same because it's easier to order.
You won't eat half the fries you order.
You haven't for three years now
You will hand them to your brother.
He will smile that crooked grin he learned from you
Happiness is
realizing that it is not just one thing
but several because you can't just have one thing
happiness is...happiness
