"Jasmine Sweetie you been in this house all day why won't you go outside"

I had no clue why my mother wanted me to go outside. I mean why should I go outside when I have everything I need in here. I got clothes, food and a phone that I never really get off of.

"Mom there's no need to go outside. I mean there's only a week left of summer break."

"Well I think...."

Before my mom could finish yapping on about me going outside I heard a loud coming from outside my window. I moved my mother to the side and went to my look out side. I saw a big moving truck parked by the house next to us.

" Oh it looks like we have new neighbors. I should make them some banana pudding."

As my mom went down stairs all I could do is stare down at the mysterious people who will be living right next door to us.

"JASMINE YOUR FRIEND IS HERE!" My mom yelled from down stairs

I knew the only friend who will be here is my friend Ashanti. She was the only person who didn't go out of state for the summer. I put on a pair of denim shorts, a black spaghetti strap t-shirt and put a red plaid shirt over it.I ran to my bathroom and went to brush my long brunette hair. I brushed my teeth and put some deodorant on cause lord knows it's burning hot outside.

I ran down stairs to see my mom blocking the door with a banana pudding in her hands.

"Sweetie I'm going to take advantage of you going outside and let you to bring this banana pudding to the neighbors and ask them if they like to join us for dinner around 8 o'clock .

"Ok mom, oh and can I go to the mall when I'm done."

"Fine but be back buy seven thats three hours for the mall and a hour to get ready if the neighbors come over.

" I know how to count mother."

I slipped on a pair of black shoes. I opened the door to see Ashanti siting on the porch. She was wearing a tie die shirt with skinny jeans and a pair of black sandals.

"Hi Mrs. Henderson ." Ashanti said with a smile on her face.

"Hello Ashanti how have you been."

"Good my parents are still at the Bahamas they should be back by tomorrow."

"Why don't you join us for dinner."

"I would love to."

"Good how does 8 o'clock sound."

"I'll be there bye Mrs. Henderson.

"Bye girls have a nice time and be safe."

Me and Ashanti started walking down the street to the new neighbors. Ashanti has been my friend for as long as I could remember. Ashanti has black curly hair. Her eyes are light brown. Sometimes I just wish I had her eyes. Instead I have blue eyes just like my mother. But I'm not sure what color my dads are. My mom said he left us a year after I was born. My mom and I try our best not to talk about him.

"So are we going to the mall?"

"Yeah but I have to drop off this desert to the new people."

"Is that banana pudding." Ashanti's said as she tried to taste some.

I gently pinched her on the arm.

"Ouch."

"This desert is not for you."

When we got to the house I rung the door bell and a women opened the Door. She had dirty blond hair and blue eyes. She looked like she was around her 30's.

"Hi I'm Jasmine and this is Ashanti. I live next door and Ashanti lives a block away. My mom wanted to give this to you."

I handed her the banana pudding.

"Oh thank you dear. Ya'll two must go to Oxford high school."

"Yes ma'am" Ashanti and I said at the same time.

"Oh that's good cause I have a son who might go to the same school."

The women turned around and had her back facing us.

"Mike come down stairs we have two lovely guest down here waiting to meet you."

When Mike came down stairs my eyes widen, and knowing Ashanti hers did to.

Mike was a huge hunk. He had brown hair, brown eyes and a very nice body. He was wearing some blue denim jeans and had a hoodie with no sleeves.

"Hey I'm mike."

"Hi I'm Jasmine and this is Ashanti."

"These are the two girls you will be going to school with."

"Jasmine don't you want to ask the new Neighbors something." Ashanti said as she elbowed me.

"Oh,my mom would like to know if you will want to come over for dinner around 8.

"We will be delighted to and by the way my name is carol but you can call me Mrs. Jones."

"Well it was nice meeting you Mrs. Jones. You to mike." I stuttered as I said mikes name.

"Bye Mrs. Jones bye mike." Ashanti said
as we walked to her red Honda to go to the mall.

"That mike guy is cute." Ashanti said as she started to drive.

"He's ok."

"OK!"

"What he didn't look that good."

"Girl shut up. I saw you checking him out with those big old eyes of yours.

"Ok for one my eyes are not big and two I was not checking him out I was doing direct eye contact."

"Well that was some flirty eye contact. But we'll talk about this later right know we have some shopping to do." We pulled into a empty parking lot and started shopping. I bought my self a one strapped blue dress that went all the way down to my knees (see dress in the picture above title.) and Ashanti bought a silver dress that was a little higher over the knee. We drove back home and Ashanti dropped me off I took a nice hot shower and started to get ready.
