I kept tapping my pen against my desk, losing all train of thought. It was my first day at Beacon Hills and not knowing a single person, annoyed me. I was in English class, surrounded by unknown faces and I was told to write an essay on which is most important in life; wealth, family or love. Who knows, who cares? I pushed my bangs out of my face and shifted in my seat for what felt like the 20th time. Mr. Warry looked at me and probably saw me struggling, but hey its my first day cut me some slack. The bell rang and I got out of that class as fast as I could. The hallway was awkward because I walked by myself and didn't talk to anyone so then I was always early to my next class. But before I could reach my locker someone ran into me and pushed me down. My back hit the ground and I saw my books fly everywhere out of the corner of my eye. The guy that knocked me over was questioning himself whether or not he should stop to help me up but the guilt probably came over him and he knelt down and put his hand out. "Are you alright?" He asked once my hand was placed in his.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He pulled me up with such ease...to much ease. I mean I wasn't heavy I was a petite girl but the way he helped me up like he was picking up a feather. He leaned down and in one swift motion, gathered all my things and held them back up to me. I took them and he was looking at me, deeply as if he had just hooked his eyes into mine. My eyes couldn't blink away from his stare and they didn't until they were burning. "Uh.." I said trying to make things less awkward.
"Yeah, I'm Scott." He held out his hand again but this time for me to shake it and I did.
"Savannah," I slightly smiled up at him and realized for the first time as to how beautiful he was. His hair was dark brown, his jaw was so cut which led up to his lips that seemed so soft and then his eyes. They were so dark, kind of like a well that was pulling me in and I would just fall in and never come back up. Scott caught me staring at him and let out a small laugh.
"It's nice to meet you," he started. "I'm really sorry I knocked you down, is there any way you could forgive me?"
"Maybe," I said and for a second I realized I was flirting with this guy. I don't flirt, usually my face gets flushed and I get out of there when boys talk to me.
"How about I walk you to your next class?" I bit my lip and nodded allowing him to lead the way.
It turned out we had the same class together and he sat next to me and helped me catch up on the work. He was actually one of the most down to earth guys I had met in a while. Scott took me to lunch with him after U.S. History, his friends swormed the table but he sat next to me so I didn't feel so awkward. "Who's your friend, Scott?" A girl asked sitting down across from me.
"Lydia, this is Savannah. Savannah this is Lydia." I smiled and greeted her sweetly and she did the same. "I'll be right back," Scott said getting up and leaving the table.
"So, you're knew here?" Lydia asked, opening her salad and eating some while looking back up at me.
"Yeah, I moved here from California."
"No way!" She smiled and then looked me up and down. "Yeah, I can totally see it. You have that look. I mean no blonde hair but you've got the California tan, the blue eyes. You're brown hair is pretty too, beach hair ya know, wavy and stuff? Wow, I need to move to Cali!" She laughed and so did I.
"Are you kidding me? You're gorgeous." She really was. Her ginger hair was glistening in my face, her eyes round and hazel. Before I could compliment her again, another girl sat down across from me. It looked like she was about to vent to Lydia but stopped and turned to me.
"Hi, I'm Allison. You are-"
"Savannah, Scott's new friend." Lydia had a smirk on her face and then went back to her salad. Allison's face dropped a little and I was confused as to why.
"Allison? Nice to meet you," I said trying to make it less awkward. She half smiled and shrugged me off when her eyes met with someone across the room. I couldnt help but turn to see where she was looking and it just so happened to be Scott. Allison got up and made her way over to him just in time for a guy to sit in her spot.
"Stiles, this is Savannah. Savannah this is Stiles." Lydia was probably tired of introduction and so was I. Stiles looked at me and smiled.
"You must be 'hot girl, I knocked down.'" Stiles laughed with Lydia and I just looked at them confused.
"What?"
"Scott texted him that you were the hot girl he knocked down. Typical guys." Lydia rolled her eyes and I couldn't help but smile at the text that Scott sent Stiles. Stiles noticed this and then sighed.
"Don't get your hopes up, no girl gets passed Allison." Stiles was confusing me again.
"Again...what?"
"Allison, she never lets any girls get close to Scott unless she likes them first and uh therefore he's been single his whole life. Basically, she's had a crush on him and everytime he meets a new girl she finds a way to make Scott not like them. So again, don't try."
"I say try," Lydia said smiling to herself.
"Well it's fine, I uh don't see Scott that way.."
"Sureeeeeee." Lydia had me all figured out and it made me nervous. Then there was a door slam and Scott slowly walked back to us obviously a little ticked off.
"Allison?" Stiles asked him. Again, feeling awkward.
"Listen, I'm having a few people over tonight so you guys better be there." Lydia got up and looked at me. "Well come on," I got up and followed her out and then looked back at Scott who smiled at me and I left with Lydia.
