In my room, asleep, I awoke with a scarce jolt. I silently scramble down the steps not to wake mother and father. Chugged down a glass of milk. I was on my way up to bed when I heard a blood curdling roar from my parents bedroom. 'Why did I get out of bed?' I wonder. I bolted to my room, then carefully shut the door to my room. I could hear footsteps coming for me. I plunged under the covers and sung " turning back to the door". As I was singing, the footsteps became louder and louder, closer and closer. I shut my eyes " I feel so much better now"'. The door creaked open, and the room fell silent. I stopped dead in the middle of the song ,and I dared not move. I was paralyzed with fear. With no sight of me, the creature who had invaded my home left, and with a click it locked the door from the outside .I cupped my hands to my ears, and listened through the door. It had left the door and went down the stairs. I thought to myself as I yanked on the door " Won't budge," .I looked through the window " Nothing can save me now.. there are no king fishers in the hickory tree, and just my mother's snapdragons are left... No use screaming, it will know I'm here, and I hear no putt-putt from the cars from the highway, so who will hear me and help?" I muttered. I could hear my little sister crying from mother's room " I need to protect my sister but how?"'. Then I heard a click as the door swung open, then a deep spine shivering voice said "Come here, little girl." It seemed to be in my head. I leaned in, and found that it still did not know that I was here. I grabbed my wooden chair, and swung it over my head, and slammed it into the door, busting it open and hitting the creature in the face. I ran to my mother's room and grabbed my little sister as I ran into the room, locking the door behind us. She said quietly "S-sister, i-it..." I stopped her mid sentence. Grabbing her hands, I said "Molly, we need to get out of here. Do you trust me?" Molly looked at me, her eyes still watery ."Of course, sis." weeped molly. I looked around.. I had a plan.
