"Sadie Rose?" "Here." I answered to the teacher, Mrs. Kelton, calling role. "I'm so excited!" My friend Ariana squealed. "Yeah." I replied. Everyone was excited today because we were going on a field trip. I'm not too excited. I just don't get excited about these kind of things. I rolled my eyes thinking about the 2 and a half hour bus ride. We aren't even going anywhere exciting. It's this museum about presidents and stuff. The teacher finally finished calling roll and she turned it into the principal. "We can't even bring our phones on the bus." I complained even though I was still going to hide it in the pocket of my sweatshirt.
"Ok, we're ready to go!" Ms Kelton said in a cheerful voice. We all got up out of our seats and someone nudged past me making me almost fall. Then I realized that it was Tyler. Tyler Mick. I scowled at him even though he had his back towards me. I've known Tyler since 3rd grade. So for 7 years. And I hate Tyler. Everyone loves him. He's the quarter back of the football team and he plays baseball. His ego is as big as Kim Kardashian's ass. I don't know how anyone could like him. He knows I hate him. Everyone knows. I said it to his face in 8th grade. Everyone asks why I hate him and I just say that he's annoying.
I snapped out of the flashbacks I was having of Tyler when we were in 8th grade and Ariana asked,"You good...?" I shook my head a little and then said,"Yeah I'm fine."
We loaded the bus and I sat by Ariana. Obviously.
*************
The school bus felt like an 8 hour drive. Especially with Ariana. All she does is talks about her new boyfriend. I swear she gets a new one every week. We walked off and it felt good to stand up. The weather was warm for December. It was 75 degrees. Usually it's 50 or 40. We walked inside and I saw Tyler with his football friends and his so called girlfriend who, surprise! Is the cheer captain. I rolled my eyes at them and then went on my way to wherever we're supposed to go. The museum was huge. 4 stories high. It was cold in there and very roomy. Great, I'm stuck here for 5 hours. We went on our way and toured it in a slow moving group since the conductor of the tour had to explain everything that we passed.
