Sure, I didn't like to be referred to as a 'groupie' (especially since I've been friends with the band since Lynn and I were in high school) but that's what I am...at least right now. Though I have to ride on a separate bus with a bunch of super fans, I get to stay up close and personal with my best friends!
"Hey, (Y/N)..." I heard Lynn behind me as I stood in front of the mini microwave. My mouth was watering as I watched the hot pocket spin in circles.
"Yeah?" I said without looking away. Touring was insane. You had to take care of your needs as soon as you had free time or else not at all.
"Adam's not able to finish the photos for tonight's show. Something came up with Anastasia." She said quietly, nervously. She knew that I was already busy helping out their manager with so many other things. "You're the only other person that knows how to work his Nikon."
"What are you saying?" I turned to look at her suspiciously.
"We need you to take the pictures. Adam requested you specifically." Lynn smiled at him. I could see the begging in her eyes.
"Fine." I grumbled. "At least I'll finally get to 'spend time' with you guys." I rolled my eyes. I was too busy with everything else to really see them! When I had free time they were either performing or sleeping!
The meet and greet before the show was now a half hour away. There was a huge line as Lynn, Alex, and Brian helped set up.
"I don't think I can handle this!" I whined as I felt my phone buzzing twenty times a second. "I can cover for Adam, assist your manager, and set up for this damn thing!"
"Welcome to show business..." Lynn muttered under her breath.
"Keep lookin' at dat schedule!" Alex teased. Lynn tried to hide her smile.
"I really don't think that'll help..." I rolled my eyes and resumed my business.
I couldn't take the heat. I went back to the tour bus for a ten minute break. My head was pounding and the bus' air conditioning was barely working. I felt like death. No...something worse. Death might be better because my body wouldn't be aching.
"You alright?" Alex walked onto the bus. "I saw you run off. I got worried." He smiled a crooked smile.
"I'm fine. I don't know how much more I can handle." I rubbed my temples. He sat down next to me. The cool air from his motions was soothing. His presence was overwhelmingly known.
"If you need anything you know I'm here for you." He put a serious hand on my shoulder and I looked up at him.
"You're freaking me out." I mumbled, staring into his eyes. It felt as though our faces were getting closer.
"Why's that?" Alex asked, slightly smiling.
"Alex?!" I heard Brian calling out. I rolled my eyes and pulled away.
"Sorry, let me know if you need anything!" He stood and walked off the bus. I was alone again. I actually needed to get back to work...
I wish I could've told him. He had been teasing me the whole tour. Though I've known him for years, seeing him perform and do what he loves changed my attitude completely. His hair, so smooth. His eyes, speckled with color. His smile, wide as a crescent moon. His laugh, addicting and contaigous. I could not deny my feelings anymore.
But I had to get on with my life...
The meet and greet went smoothly. The concert was pretty stressful. I didn't want to get in the way of the fans seeing them perform...but I really needed those pictures!
