I found myself drenched in sweat and punching the bag with all my might. I heard music coming from outside the warehouse and laughing, it sounded like teenagers. I realized that I have gone a week in a warehouse, with a guy that I don't know and worked my body to limits not possible. The laughter got louder and my punches got harder. I felt eyes on me and suddenly my fists weren't punching anything. I had busted open the punching bag and sand was spilling out.
I quickly looked over to see who was looking at me. I saw a group of guys staring at me. I unlatched the broken bag, tossed it to the side, walked to another bag, threw it over my shoulder and hooked it where my original bag was.
"Damn babe. Wanna fight me?" I heard from one of the guys watching. I didn't turn around. I said, "You sure? Only if you think you can handle it." With that, I took off my wraps and crawled into the arena. I could tell that he was following me into the arena. I turned around to face him, he was eyeing my body before looking at my face. He was probably 19 or 20 years old.
A bunch of guys gathered around. "Ready?" I asked. He smirked, "Oh yea babe. I'll go easy on you." "Whatever makes you happy." I mumbled before bringing my fists up to my face. He ran to me and tried to pin me down. I moved to the side, tripped him, and pinned him down. I started punching his face until he was gushing blood from his nose. I got up and looked around at the silent crowd.
"Alli? Oh My God!" I heard a familiar voice yell. Deven jumped into the arena. My jaw dropped. My body stiffened. "Deven. If you take one step closer... You'll look worse then him." Deven stopped and put his hands up, "Alli. Baby. C'mon. We can make it work." I held my breath, my knuckles hurt from punching that guy, they were throbbing and mixed between my and the guys blood. My mind kept telling me to take a breathe and step back. He took another step which startled me. "VINCE!" I scram.
"Who the hell is Vince?" Deven said. A guy came up beside Deven. It was Doug. "Alli. Oh My God. You're okay. Ugh I was so worried. Deven just leave her alone. Can't you tell she doesn't want you?" Doug took a couple steps closer to me. "Doug? You know Deven? Both of you stay where you are. Don't come near me." This was a train wreck.
"Baby. Please." Deven said sternly. His voice made my skin crawl. I tilted my chin up, "Even if I wanted to.. I can't. I have a boyfriend." Deven clenched his jaw, "Yes you do. It's me." "I don't think so. Your name is not Warren soo." I felt someone grab my arm, it was Vince. "Let's go. Warren said he want's to give you a surprise for fighting good." Vince winked. Deven looked enraged as did Doug.
I smirked, "Ohhh. I love his surprises. They always make me feel soooo good." I wanted to make Deven and Doug jealous. Vince tugged my arm, "Come on, you don't want to keep him waiting." I could tell Vince was trying to get me out of there as fast as possible cause he knew, I wouldn't go without a fight. "Vince, will you go tell Warren to get the bed ready?" Vince looked at me sternly, I could tell he was mad. "Sure." he said before heading upstairs.
Doug spoke up, "Who the hell is Warren?"Deven looked at Doug, "How do you know Alli and why do you care?" Doug stepped away from Deven and looked at me then looked down, "Alli and I umm... Well.. We kinda like made out." Doug cringed expecting Deven to hurt him. Deven laughed then patted Doug on the back, "She is a good kisser huh?" Doug laughed and agreed. Then their attention turned back to me. "Alli. Come on. I'll take you home. Everyone is worried sick. Your parents called the police to go on a search for you. They are worried... They think you found out about your brother and thats why you ran away.."
I had no clue what he was talking about. "What about my brother?" Deven was making something up. Mom told me she had a miscarriage with my older brother. "Your twin brother?" I clenched my jaw and fists, "What are you talking about? Mom had a miscarriage with my older brother. She told me." Deven shrugged his shoulders, "Nah, he ran away, something like that. No one has seen him in like 5 years." I had to make sure Deven wasn't making up a story, "How old is he?" "He is 18. Your twin Alli." I jumped on Deven, punching as hard as I could. "You're lying! I don't have a brother! I don'thave a twin! Mom wouldn't lye to me!" Doug pulled me off of Deven. Tears were streaming down my face. Deven sat up and spat blood out. "I'm not lying. His name is Jacob. He left at age 8, he was seen stealing a hoodie around the age 13. He has completely disappeared after that."
It hit me just then. I remembered playing with a boy names Jacob when I was young. I asked my mom where Jacob went and she always answered the same, "Your friend Jacob moved." I was angry. I kneed Doug as hard as I could and kicked Deven. I stormed away. I turned back, "NO worries, I'm going to disappear as well, hey maybe we will meet up." I stopped at the bottom of the stairs and thought about Vince shooting the guy to protect Warren. "Now all of you get out of here before I shot you." They scurried out. I heard Deven scream, "You'll regret leaving me.." Then he walked out. The garage/wall door closed. I ran upstairs crying.
