You blink, and shake your head. She was right in front of you! You begin to reach out to touch the air, but because of some odd looks from the guards, you stop, and put your hands down. You close your eyes and sigh.

You open your eyes quickly as you hear a noise. It sounded like someone running. All the guards whip their heads from side to side, looking for the source of the noise. You frown, but don't react. You hear it again, but now it sounds much closer. You twist to look behind you, and a couple guards follow your lead.

You jump as you hear one more round of those footsteps, and then....

One of the guards just disappeared.

You breath deeply and close your eyes. Now, you're definitely going crazy. Disappearing guards? Lady Irene coming to save the day? No. Just no. You open your eyes again to see the guards around your frowning and whispering to each other, and it takes you less than five seconds to realize it's about you.

You put your hand of your heart and find that it's racing harder than ever before. Something is nearby. Someone.

"Sorry about that." A guard walks down the hall, and joins the group. You figure that this one is the guard that disappeared. You breath out. No magic here, just a bathroom break, probably. The other guards begin to give that guard funny looks, but he ignores it.

Something about that voice seems familiar. You slap your head. No, no, no. Why are you hearing things now!? You're tempted to ask the guards if you can go back to your cell, and have a lie down.

The Head Guard knocks on the door of Zane's study.

"Come in." His voice calls from inside. He couldn't even come out to greet us. So arrogant and self-centred. You calm yourself down before stepping inside.

"I'm surprised you took the long way from her cell." Zane says, sitting, facing a window. "The girl can out up a fight."

"I have a name, you know." You say, as snidely as he talks to you.

"Manners are still a point of struggle for you, then?"

"Compared to you, I'd say that I'm better than you in many ways."

"In thoughtfulness, yes, but in courage and strength, probably not." Zane still doesn't turn from you.

"You, with courage and strength?" You snort, "I'm sure kidnapping girls and putting them in cells in incredibly brave."

"Guards, you may leave." Zane's voice has taken a turn, now it sounds low and dangerous. The guards silently file out. Zane turns around, and you realize with satisfaction that you have him both a black eye, and a cut lip when you attacked him.

"To be honest, Y/N, I really didn't think you'd be brave enough to attack someone." He says

"Well, you've finally learned something, Zane." You say.

"Now is not the time for snide remarks." He glares at you. "Where is your father?"

"My father?" You say, confused. "He ran away when you attacked."

"Yes, but he took something... Precious to us, here in O'Khasis, with him."

"Really?" You ask.

"I'm not allowed to tell you what he took, but as he ran away, he said something very interesting."

You frown, what is it?

"He told us to tell you; The shine of something lost will recover another secret."

"The shine of something lost will recover another secret?" You say, and you search your brain for anything that might relate to a shine. What in the world is shiny and precious to O'Khasis?
