Okayyy my turn with chapter 5 :3 ~Britt

Rayne's POV

I froze when I saw them. Ash froze too. I couldn't help it, I was gawking.

I couldn't believe it. I wished I was dreaming, but I knew that I wasn't.

Why did Mike never tell me about working with One Direction?!

He just HAD to leave out that one significant detail!

UGH!

Now I really didn't want to work here. I knew I was right when I tried convincing Ash we shouldn't take the damn job.

"Hello," one of them finally greeted. He had dark curly hair and green eyes. I think his name was um...Harry...Harry something. I don't remember his last name. I ignored him, not bothering to greet him back.

Instead, I spun around to glare at Mike, who for some reason, was grinning like an idiot. I glowered at him.

"Why did you never tell us we had to work with these people?!" I hissed. Mike's eyes widened and he definitely looked confused. It was obvious that I had taken him off guard with my question.

"I thought you liked them? I wanted to surprise you!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air. My mouth dropped open and I continued to stare at him in disbelief.

"LIKE these people?! HA! Not in a billion fucking years!"

How could he even think that?!

"But you always talk about them!" He protested.

"NO, I bitch about how they're so damn popular at my damn school and it makes me sick!" I corrected him, rolling my eyes.

It was then when I realized how loud I was getting. I knew we were in a sound proof room with sound proof walls so nobody on the outside could hear us, but still. I blushed and looked back at them. One Direction. The people both Ash and I despised.

"Is there an issue here?" One of them asked. He had tan skin and his black hair was up in a quiff. I had no idea what this guys name was. Something that started with a Z, something weird.

Hey, just because they get drooled over at my school does not mean I know the slightest thing about them. Except that they are overrated.

"Oh no no no, my stepdaughter is just shocked. She wasn't expecting to be working with the biggest boy band in the world." Mike explained. I clenched my teeth together. I didn't like having to look at the people I hated.

"Anyway, how about some introductions!" Mike exclaimed, purposely changing the subject. I rolled my eyes and looked over at Ash, who looked just as pissed as I probably did.

"Boys, this is my stepdaughter, Rayne. Rayne Hopewell. And this is her friend Ashlynn Labelle."

"Ash," she corrected.

"They will be working here for awhile," he continued, ignoring Ash. "Girls, meet One Direction!" He pointed to every one from left to right as he said their names, "Liam, Harry, Zayn, Louis, and Niall."

Zayn?

Niall?

Talk about some weird ass names.

And where do you ever even hear the name Louis anymore except in history books?

"Oh I bet they definitely know who we are," the one named Harry smirked. I could already tell that he was the cocky type. Mike left and then left the room, leaving us alone with them. It was our turn to lash back.

"Actually, we're not fans." I corrected.

"We more like hate you," Ash added on. This time, it was my turn to smirk.

The one who Mike had said was named Louis, gawked at us. "Hate? Hate? How could ANYONE hate my fabulous ass? Peasants!"

He was weird...the sassy type.

The others appeared shocked as well, but didn't say anything at first, until finally, the one named Liam spoke up.

"Do you really hate us?" He asked.

I wanted to sound somewhat nicer when answering this (hey, I couldn't help it), but Ash beat me to it.

"Yes. We do. And I hate this job now too." She said. I was honestly shocked. Before we knew about having to work with One Direction, Ash had been extremely excited about this job.

"You're overrated and your sissy pop music is just...bubblegum. Everyone freaks out about you and we don't see the point. You're just another band," I pointed out. I wasn't about to sugarcoat it with these people. They probably have had worse critics.

"Everyone's a critic," Harry mumbled, practically reading my mind.

"Well, lets make a deal." The one named Niall finally spoke up. He had a different accent than the rest of them. Liam, Louis, Zayn, and Harry all had British accents. Niall's sounded Irish.

"Why should we make a deal with you?" Ash spat. Niall cringed, but continued.

"Please, hear me out."

"Whatever. Go on."

"It doesn't matter if you hate us, hate our music or not. We're not in America permanently. I'm not one hundred percent sure when we go back to England, but it'll be awhile. So just work with us while we're here and if you try to make everything peaceful for the better, we'll try too."

His compromise actually sounded pretty good.

"But Niiiaaalllll," one of them whined.

"Shut up Lou."

Ah. The sassy one.

I looked over at Ash and she looked at me as we made eye contact. Should we take him up on his offer or should we just quit?

"I say we take him up on his offer," Ash said, surprising me. I must have looked startled because she smirked and said, "You were thinking out loud."

"Oh," I blushed.

"Anyway, I think we should. Working at a recording studio could be fun, even if we do have to work with a stupid band-"

"Hey! We're still here you know!" One of them exclaimed. Probably that Louis guy.

"They're right, they won't stay here forever. Once they go back to England, we can forget any of this ever happened." Ash pointed out.

I had to admit, she could be pretty logical sometimes.

"Okay," I agreed, "Lets do it."
