"Erebus... Come here a moment." A hoarse, deep voice bellowed. I turned to see Lucifer standing with his chest puffed and a serious look on his face. I slowly walked over to him and looked up at him submissively. Lucifer asked, "Erebus, how many serpents do we have left?" Quietly I replied "One sir..." "One?!" He exclaimed. "Yes sir... All the others have been beheaded or smashed to death by God." "That old man! That lying, deceiving-" he quickly stopped and took a deep breath. "Where is this last, single serpent Erebus?" I slowly turned to search the area. "Probably in the cave in which it lives in sire." "Of course. Fetch it please Erebus." He ordered. "Yes of course King." I quickly sped off looking for the serpent. "Alvah? Alvah!" I called out, hoping for a response. I cautiously walked into the serpents cave and called out once more. "Alvah!" A few second later, a response struck my ears. "No need to shout sir! I am right here!" A sly little voice shouted right from under me. I quickly looked down and saw a feeble serpent slithering through the passage between my feet. "Alvah, you are home. Good! King Lucifer is calling for you." Alvah slowly looked up at me with a displeased look. "What does he need?" He hissed. "I do not quiet know sir but please follow me to the great King." I said. "Alright." The serpent replied. He slowly slithered after me as I walked back to Lucifer. "I have found the serpent sir. Here he is as you asked sire." I presented the serpent to Lucifer and a grin grew upon his face. "Wonderful! Tell me Alvah... Is what Erebus told me true? That you are the last serpent?" Alvah slowly flicked his tongue out and softly spoke. "Yes sire." "Oh how terrible! You must be awfully lonely." Lucifer cackled. Alvah laid quietly. "What is it you need sire?" Lucifer kneeled down and picked up the serpent. "Just how sly are you serpent?" The serpent chuckled. "I am not the last of my kind for no reason. My stealth is keeping me from the hands of that un loyal man." Lucifer chuckled and spoke loudly. "So would you be willing to go on a quest for your old King?" Alvah stared at Lucifer and hissed. "What are you spewing sir?!" "I need a favor dear serpent." Lucifer said, his voice suddenly low and serious. Alvah asked, "and what is this favor you ask for?" Lucifer grinned. "I need you to go into the garden of Eden and tell persuade that innocent fool Eve, to eat from the tree of knowledge." I interrupted "Sir! You have to be kidding! That would make God furious!!!" Lucifer spat "Let him be angry! The future of humans deserve to know the truth!" Alvah smirked and turned to me. "He is correct."
I slowly shook my head and looked at Lucifer, hoping he would know how worried I was.
