My Snowfall

Carmel salted by the sea (carmello for short)
My day started as any other. Wondering through a wide open feild choosing the best of wildgrasses. I knickered at some broodmares in the pasture pen next to my own. But things changed sround midday. Tara came out wimpering, sobbing and mumbiling something about forclosure. I gently nudged her trying to aid the amount of lacking affection she was dispaying towrds me. She told me "Sorry carmello, goodbye i'll miss you." Then she turned away and hurried into the house. Without my stable girl i dodnt know what to do i felt lonely and afraid. When strange smelling men roughly dragged me towards a trailer i balked bking away as quickly as i could trying my hardest to escape. The men would have no e of it. They pushed one horse after another violently into the trailer. It didnt take them long to get me imside the big metal box. I was squished in with about five other horses. We were packed so tightly it was hard to breath. Soon, too soon we stopped at a new farm. The delapited barns with roofs caved in was the only shelter upon tge dusty land. Little did i know this was my new home. The men opend rhe doors and we tumbled out to tired from our drive to truly enjoy our newfound freedom. We were hungry and dehydrated because altjough it was midfall all of us packef in one trailer had made it feel around a hundred degrees inside. The dusty ground was hard and had seen no water in months. Probably only a 1/2 acer and between the two trailers there were about ten of us in the small space. The men would crack their whips angrily in the air if the rucus we made got to loud.

Ireland
It was my first day at my new school. Also my first day having a family. I am 15. My parents died when i was 4 months old in a car crash. I had been in foster care ever scince. My hair a vibrant red just as my irish father's hair had been. And my mother a dark Haitian woman had given my her tight curls.
