Prevention of Termination (Undertale FanFic)

Prologue- Suicide

  "kiddo?" Frisk hugged the skeleton tighter. "hey, don't be crying on my jacket." He tried to pry Frisk from his rib cage, but it was useless. They were clinging to him. "kiddo, what's wrong?"

  "Monster." They mumble weakly.

  "yeah, there's a lot of those,"

  "Human... monster."

  "kiddo, spit it out." He worriedly pushed the child away, where they stared up at Sans with tears streaming down their face. Sans' heart sinks. He can see red in their half-closed eyes. 

  "... S-Sans, I can't fight them... they're... gonna... g-gonna kill... everyone." Frisk hiccups, and Sans takes a cautious step back. "I-I want you to... t-to kill me!"

 "k-kiddo, no, i can't... no, i'm keepin' you alive, i promised paps a-and tori..."

 "S-Sans! I can't... get to Asgore without breaking... Y-You have to... take my soul! Take my soul so they c-can't reset!" A small sob racked through them as they ripped out their toy knife... but it wasn't a toy. It was a kitchen knife. "P-Promise me, y-you'll free them... and keep my soul?"

  "kid, please, don't- don't make me promise..."

  "Please."

  "... i... i promise..." SLICE.

  Blood dripped from the child's throat as they ripped the knife down it. She dropped to the ground, and the snow slowly became stained with crimson red. Sans acted hastily, rushing forward and picking them up. His jacket seeped with their blood, and he was screaming... The light of red bloomed, and he caught it in his hands, his eternal smile cracked.

  "... i promised..." The light shone as he brought the soul to his chest, and, with one painfully slow burning feeling, he had absorbed their soul.

  Power surged through him, his eyes ravenous.

  With his new power, he could do anything- And now, he's prepared to take the souls and leave.

  It's time to escape the underground.

  It's time to free monsterkind.
