Hannah's P.O.V.

"Come on Kris! You have to hurry, or you'll miss it!" I yelled, as I was running toward the neighborhood park. I wanted to show him this animal that needed help.

"Well Hannah I'm running as fast as I can, I'm not really into cross country like you are!" He yelled back; I can now hear him panting.

I rolled my eyes and slowed down until I finally stopped. I waited for him to catch up, which felt like forever! He crouched down and inhaled and exhaled. Over and over again.

"This is why you need to get your fatass in shape, for reasons like this. It's not healthy for you." I stopped talking as he slowly stood up. "You and I both deeply care about the animals, how do you expect to help them when you can't even run a few blocks straight?" He stared at me as a gave him a soft but serious glare.

He sighed and looked down, "sorry Hannah," he looked at me straight into my eyes. They were full of determination. "How about I start training with you every morning? What do you think?"

I smiled and wrapped my arm around him, "I'd like that, little bro." I removed my arm from his shoulder and faced the direction of the park. "Come on let's go, that animal still needs our help." I turned back to him, "do you think you can handle running a bit more? After all, we're almost there."

He nodded and we continued to run towards the animal in danger.

~~~~~
After a few minutes we finally arrived at the park, and I quickly started to look around.
"So where is this cool, but injured, animal you're talking about?" Kris asked from behind me.
"I'm looking for it." I said, looking in every direction.
"Wait, so you don't even know where it's at? Do you even know if there is an animal here, in danger at all?" He asked, a little irritated.
"Oh don't get your panties in a twist. I was in such a hurry to find you, that I forgot where I saw it."
"Why didn't you just call me?" He asked, with a hint of humor in his voice.
I mentally face palmed myself, "I don't know, maybe because I forgot!" I was getting a little agitated, but then I remembered where I saw the animal. "I remember! Follow me Kris!" I yelled running straight to the dead tree that I saw the injured animal by.
Once I got to it, I gasped. It was in horrible shape. "Kris help me!" I slowly reached my arms out to it and picked it up from the ground. I turned around and removed my arms as I handed it to Kris.
He stared at it in shock, "it's a bat?"
"No shit Sherlock," I stated, rolling my eyes.
"Well I know that, it's just that we have never helped a bat before. How do you expect us to help this poor animal?" He asked me, his voice was full of concern.
"I honestly don't know, but it'll never hurt to try." I said with determination in my voice.
His worried face changed into a serious one, he nodded and we began our work.
~~~~~

Two weeks later

Well today is the day that Kris and I are going to set our little bat friend free. I feel kind of sad because we had a special connection with our friend, but nature calls for its son.

"You ready Kris?" I asked softly, he also had a big connection with the bat.

He slowly nodded but smiled. "This is always the hard part, and you know it." He looked back down at his arms and back at me, "but nature calls and it's where he belongs."

I smiled and slowly nodded, "come on, let's go to the park. We can let it free there and we can be there by the time it gets dark. It's a perfect time to let the bat roam free."

~~~~~
As soon as Kris and I got to the park, we had to wait to set it free because there was still day light out. It could harm the bat.
After about half an hour, the darkness was just right.
We said our goodbyes to our little bat friend. We held the bat together and opened our hands. The bat spread open its wings and flew into the air. It was making screech noises and was flying around us.
"I don't speak bat, but I think he's trying to thank us." Kris said from behind me.
I slowly nodded and looked back at our bat, "no need to thank us little guy. The pleasure was all ours."
After a few minutes, the bat finally flew away. We watched it, until it was finally out of sight.
"We did a good job, little bro-" I was cut off by a force of wind pushing us back, along with hearing a weird noise, like something was hovering in those cheesy movies.
"Did you feel that?" Kris asked me, a little freaked out.
And to be honest, I was a little freaked out too. "I have no idea." I looked all around me but saw nothing, then I decided to look up. Nothing was there, but I still kept looking. Right when I was about to look back down, a weird object appeared then disappeared in an instant. "You have to tell me that you saw that. Did you see it?" I asked Kris, totally freaking out.
He was looking into the sky and slowly nodded, "I think that we should go home now." He said quietly.
"My thought exactly." I grabbed Kris' wrist and started to run towards the exit. We would've been out by now, but Kris kept staring at the sky, and I don't know why.
I stopped so that I can catch his attention, but now I knew what he was staring at. "What are those?" I asked rhetorically.
We could now see the entire aircraft in the air, it was no longer invisible. It was moving as fast as a plane, maybe even faster. Then when we thought it couldn't get any worse, blue-ish/green things started to fall out of it. Most of the things were coming straight towards us.
I finally got my act together and forcefully made Kris look me dead in the eye. "We need to go now! Our lives matter too! We can't do anything at the moment, besides we don't even know what those things are!"
He looked back up and his eyes widened. He looked back at me, and with no warning, he forcefully pushed me away from him.
I fell to the ground and skidded a few feet until I finally stopped. I sat up and my eyes widened when I saw that blue-ish/green thing broke all over Kris.
The liquid splattered all over him. He gasped. He started to scream in agony, I don't know what's wrong. "Kris! What's happening?" I was totally loosing it right now.
"It hurts! Argh, help me!" He begged.
"I don't know what to do, tell me what to do!" I pleaded, tears were now falling from my eyes and onto the ground.
I was about to look for help when I looked at him. He was staring into my eyes and something happened. His eyes turned red and he growled. His nails turned into claws, his teeth grew fangs. I was freaked out, I still don't know what to do.
Kris' face made a cringe as the pain was finally slowing down, my guess. He looked at me and hissed.
I think now was the time to get out of here. I started to run away but within a few feet, I was tackled to the ground. I was flipped over to see Kris pinning me down.
He hissed in my face and then smiled. "Something about this new form feels, great. I don't want to hurt you Hannah but I think that this form would really benefit from our old lives."
I had no idea what he meant. He got up and stood over me, "I hope you appreciate your present." After he said that, he ran in a lightning fast pace and stood far away.
I stared at him with a confused gaze. The ground around me started to glow and so did my body. I hesitantly looked up and saw one of those things over me. "Fucking Kris."
The glass then broke over me, and the pain took over. The pain was excruciating, and it was the last thing I felt before I blacked out.
