The City Lights

Waking up on the wrong side of the right bed

With the city lights escaping the cracks in your window

Sirens screaming speeding down the ally

And this is what happened

Before it all went wrong

Our hearts decided a new path was to be taken

For another to feel our love again

Even if this meant to separate

For our time is over

And now together we cry

Yet an ending just means there's a new beginning

Maybe another chance for some real love

Sirens are screaming

In tune with our breaths

For our chests are heaving

And our breaths are shaky

And the tears are seeping out

Knowing the love we once shared

Is no longer

And another will replace what I used to be to you

Together we cry

Yet an ending just means there's a new beginning

As she turns around and smirks in my direction

I know that our love has passed

Yet without her I would never be the same

It makes no sense

What else can I do

But to move on

Just like you
