So, I'll admit Mister Hotshot is cute.

Or at least that's what I said in order to shut Andrea up. The diner was back up and running after two weeks of repairment. I stood behind the counter in my turquoise and peach waitress uniform while Andrea was sitting on the other side. I kept quiet about the entire situation until I spilled everything to her as I pretended to be give her some service.

"Was he cute?" Andrea asked.

"Andrea!" I scoffed. "I tell you I met a fugitive who destroyed this place and almost got me killed, but the first thing you want to know is if he's cute?"

"Well, was he?"

"You're unbelievable." I shook my head.

"But was he cute?"

"Okay, yes. The guy was cute, are you happy?" I asked, exasperated.

"I am. Do you think he's single?"

"Goodbye, Andrea." I said, rolling my eyes. I walked around the counter and took out my notepad and pen, walking toward a customer who hadn't been waited on.

"Hi, my name is Aliana and I'll be serving you today. What can I get you today?" I questioned without looking at them, getting my notepad ready.

"Small dark roast coffee with no sugar." A familiar voice said.

My face dropped. I looked up and there was that damn fancy schmancy hotshot of a man, sitting in the booth with a sharp suit on. Did the guy dress in suits all the time? With curls tamed and crooked smile looking the best they could, he spoke again.

"Is it possible if you could sit down with me?" He asked.

"No."

"Ouch, hard to get. I like that in a woman." He replied, smiling.

"Are you following me? I'll call the police on you."

"Make sure to include my name. They might tell you to say hi for them. I used to work for them. Now, I work above them. Good try, though."

"Who the hell are you?" I asked, surprised.

"Someone you shouldn't know, but I came by to apologize for ruining the diner. I hope the five thousand dollars made up for any hours you missed."

"That's how much it was? I didn't even bother seeing how much it was. It's just sitting in my apartment. How did you even get it in my pocket?"

"I'm a man of many talents, Miss. Morte. Like being able to tell you and your friend were just talking about me seconds ago. Not a fugitive, by the way."

I was astonished. How did he know I called him a fugitive?

"And you can tell Andrea I'm single, but has no chance. I like my women a bit older. Quite like you." He said with a smile.

"And I like my men not being flirty curly headed killers who tear apart diners and eavesdrop."

"Ouch, again. Why are you so bitter, doll? I'm being the sweetest I can be."

"Well, try harder because it's not working. You're practically salt."

"And you're sugar. We're a nice combination." He said.

"Goodbye, whatever your name is." I said, walking away.

I made my way back behind the counter. Andrea looked from her phone for a quick second to see who I was. She read my facial expression and instantly grew uninterested in her phone.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

I looked back to find the annoying imbecile, but he was gone. I scanned the whole diner for him until I came up with nothing.
