Fey

Neil sat at the cafe , filled with unease , he was a tea guy through and through and the dumb, fickle , scary jerk had gone ahead and ordered coffee for him. He looked again at the ugly dark brown liquid, just the right color for my mood , he thought. Apparently the prince didn't forget him like he hoped he did , otherwise he wouldn't be sitting across the ugly jerk right now and yeah, that was a lie, the jerk wasn't ugly.

Damien sat on the other end of the table , contemplating pros and cons. A lot of things were happening at the same time and a lot of lot of lives at stake. He knew that Neil was powerful or at least would be when he comes of age which is pretty soon , after all he did descend from powerful bloodlines . His father was one of the nobles of the unseelie court and definitely lived up-to the expectations, not a fair bone in his body. His mother was a met , an offspring born out of the union of a fey and a human , a person more human than fey ,abandoned and then later adopted by the Gluttons. Chances are that the boy could be useful if he'd survive the change . Aroc was still mad at him for letting the boy live ,the plan was to kill him long before he become a threat. He briefly wondered what sort of fey Neil would be, his father was a Jermlain , a very evil and fiendish type of fey . Taking a good look at Neil Damien figured that Neil would not be a Jermlain, after all it was the character  and not genes that decided the type of fey one would become. Neil here would probably be a leprechaun, he did look quite mischievous or maybe killoren , sirine , pixie or even a nymph. Only time would tell.

Neil kept sneaking glances at the fickle jerk. Honestly he was getting impatient, very impatient . He started tapping his foot, rather loudly too , hoping to get some sort of reaction and it worked like a charm , not! Neil huffed and sat back at his chair , arms folded , buggers, it never failed to make his mother or loony aunt snap.

"What do you think about fey?" Damien asked after an excruciatingly boring twenty minutes. Good , so he wasn't called to stare dumbly at the ceiling in awkward silence , awkward at least for him. "um.....It kinda rhymes with gay?.." What else is he supposed to say to such a weird question. "Oh, wait...you're talking about Maria Fernanda Blazquez ,right? stage name, fey....yeah, I've never really listened to any of her songs before so I can't really comment , you a fan or something, Damien ,ugh, your highness?"

Damien blinked for a second, the kid sure did own a pair of lungs "There's no need for formalities, I'm quite sure we'll be seeing each other quite often and about that Maria something I've never quite heard of her" Neil looked queasy after hearing that, seeing the jerk more often ? he'd much rather jump off a cliff than do that, or perhaps not, suicide was out of fashion anyway.

It didn't exactly surprise Damien that the boy was completely unaware of the fact that he wasn't human. He had a few months before the change to tell Neil all he needed to know about feys . There was no big rush. As far as he was concerned the feys weren't very aware of his existence either , socializing wasn't a big trend in the unseelie court. Now Damien sure as hell wasn't trying to tell that all the feys in the unseelie court were evil or malevolent , he had in fact seen quite a few that were almost nice. But it was almost a known fact that the feys of the unseelie court were more prone to unprovoked violence . It wasn't like the feys of the seelie court were saints, in fact most of them were very mischievous and loved to prank unsuspecting humans , generally harmless pranks, but there were more than a few evil buggers up there.

Meanwhile Damien needed to keep a close eye on the boy, and what better way to keep a close eye than have the boy work for him. Damien smirked , now that was an idea even Aroc might approve of. Aroc had been Damien's bodyguard for a good ten years and was almost unflailingly loyal. Aroc was a fey too, a thrute in fact ,an extremely strong and stern type of fey with skin made of stone. It was quite convenient that Aroc was proficient in marskine, the act of changing appearances. One could only imagine how humans would react to Aroc's true form, they'd probably stone him, not that that would help much considering Aroc had a skin of stone. Aroc was currently sitting at the table adjacent to theirs doing his duty, disguised as a rather heinous looking women. The wince on the heir apparent's face when he saw Aroc's disguise of the day in the morning did give Aroc quite a bit of satisfaction.

"You're going to be working for me for a while" Damien said, a smirk on his lips as he observed the perplexed expression on Neil's face. "huh!? As what?" Damien's smirk fell , he hadn't thought that far ahead." an errand boy.?." Neil blinked, blood rushing to his face, his hands trembling in anger. "AN ERRAND BOY? SERIOUSLY? I DON'T RECALL ATTENDING ANY FREAKING INTERVIEW AND I SURE AS HELL DIDN'T BURN ALL THAT MIDNIGHT OIL TO ..."Damien silenced the yelling boy with a glare , he disliked public tantrums and if anyone here had the power to throw tantrums that would be him.

"A librarian then, think of it as a pretty prison for now , you aren't really in a position to refuse, and besides, one needn't fear getting bored in a library." There was something about Damien's tone that told Neil that the consequences of his refusal wouldn't be pretty. Neil gulped, cleared his throat and said, in an extremely fake and high pitched tone "Librarian it is ,then!!! "
