Snow's POV-

"Fuck, why does she have to live so far into the forest?" I mumble quietly to myself. I've been searching through this forest for more than an hour now. I'm sure if it was daylight I wouldn't be complaining like a little bitch. I can hardly see out here! I may have some of the sense of a wolf, but since I haven't gone through the full transaction my senses aren't as great as those who are full wolf. It sucks that we have to wait so long to full evolve. Before the age of eighteen everyone born into our pack gets the sense and gain the agility of a wolf. Our wolf is inside us from the very beginning, but it doesn't come out until we're eighteen. That is when we can fully shift into one and gain all of our senses. Thankfully, I only have two more years until that happens. Though having those extra strong senses and agility would be fantastic to have right now. I absolutely have no idea where I’m going. Plus, knowing that I’m searching for the Hunters lair completely unarmed is a bit unnerving. I’ve seen them take out other packs before with just their bow and arrows. It’s frightening to think that they could massacre an entire pack of twenty or more wolves without any serious injuries. To be honest just the thought of getting up close and personal with another Hunter scares me shitless. Well, except for Kira. She wouldn’t do anything to hurt me… I think.

The sound of old dried up leaves crunch beneath my shoes as I sprint quickly through the magnificently dark and eerie forest. I listened carefully for any sound of movement and thankfully the sound of water smashing against land reach my ears. With each step I take the stream becomes louder and louder. I force myself to move faster due to the fact that I’m basically dying for something to drink. Not literally, but it sure does feel like it. Too bad I forgot to bring a water bottle along with me. I’m sure that could have saved me more time rather than having to stop for a bit to take a break. I should probably read over Kira’s instructions again because I clearly don’t have any fucking idea where I’m heading. I’ve been lost for approximately two hours now, she’s probably getting worried.

The further I went into the forest the stranger the atmosphere around me felt. There weren’t any night critters anywhere to be seen and honestly that creeps me out a bit. How could this possibly be? From what I’ve learned and been told animals tend to live near a water source. Where could they be? All of this seems too strange for my liking and I’m beginning to get the chills.

Suddenly, my exhaustion begins to catch up with my thighs because they start to burn as my feet grow even more tired than before. From what I can remember from before, Kira specifically instructed me to run rather than walk because it was too dangerous. She didn’t explain why, but sternly said my life depended on my speed. Of course I simply nodded and agreed to running, but fuck this it’s getting too difficult for me to continue running on full speed. Seriously, what could really happen? I’m faster than any human on this planet so what could possibly get to me?

Being the ignorant little shit that I am I slow my pace down to a fast walk. Almost immediately my legs began to relax a bit from wondering aimlessly throughout the forest. Why didn’t I think of walking earlier? I could have saved a lot of energy.

Reaching into my pocket I dig out the directions to Kira’s house while I keep walking towards the stream. I unfold the white crinkled notebook paper she had handed to me earlier today. Before I could read the directions written on the small piece of paper it was taken out of my hands and pinned to a tree with a small, black arrow with the symbol of an ‘H’ carved into the sides of it. I stare at the old oak tree with fear and disbelief. Without warning another one flies past my face and disappears into the dark forest. If I were standing a few inches to my right I would have been hit with that! Kira wasn’t kidding when she told me I had to keep on moving no matter what.
